are these bundled phones unlocked?.......ie can use for any service?........ i would look at it from the point of view of the actual price bought......ie, if the contract price is 1.4k, there should be at least a 10% drop in value immediately after ownership..... Added on March 22, 2011, 2:58 pmQUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Mar 22 2011, 10:59 AM) The charms of the physical keyboard eh? i NEED a physical keyboard.......i have big fingers, and always make mistakes with screen keyboards, no matter what fancy system they have.......... they are supposed to sell the phone without contract too, but the sales staff will always try to palm off a contract to you....i suspect they get better commission that way.......
torn now between a legit full warrantee set, or take a chance with ap set and save some money.....
btw, for the few difference between z and tmg2, is it okay with the g2 for use in msia?.......

QUOTE(joo3 @ Mar 25 2011, 11:00 AM) not bad... but can not insert some simbol... what sort of symbols?.........shouldn't the software be the same as for the other models?........ there was some concerns with the slide our hinge.......appears it gets loose after some use, and in later models, they have tighten it, but it makes the sliding out mechanism stiffer......?

QUOTE(Nels @ Mar 25 2011, 12:05 PM) The keyboard is fine, but after i change the touch screen keyboard to multiling keyboard, i tend to use the touch screen more its faster. I bought this nearly 2 weeks ago. Since i buy AP i get it around rm1600 + 8 GB micro SD. what is multiling keyboard?........ if that is the case, it defeats the purpose of having a physical qwerty keyboard, no?.....

question: how to transfer my phone book data (mostly just numbers) from my old dopod (win mobile 6.1) to android?.......
problem is, i cannot sync with any computer for the last year since i upgraded to 6.1, so i have not been able to upload info into outlook........
and the dying dopod cannot read the sd card lately (hence the need to change phone)..........

that's what i thought, but this will need to be manually done, and over a few times ( i have over 600 numbers).....and i think only numbers can be transferred.........
but i am looking for an alternative which is easier.......i can still access the internet of course via 3g or wifi......and online site/software allows extraction of data and saved online?....

any way to make the phone notify, either by sound or vibration, when using the physical keyboard?.......the keys are not very responsive, and often cannot tell if the key had been pressed adequately, many missed letters.......... Added on April 14, 2011, 5:31 pmQUOTE(iKyleZ @ Mar 26 2011, 10:29 PM) May i ask where did you buy your DZ at RM1600 + 8GB micro SD? thats the best price i heard so far. The cheapest i found was at RM1680 + 2GB. i realised the 8gb microsd comes default preinstalled with a fair bit of software, about 2gb worth........ QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Apr 14 2011, 10:22 PM) @limeuu, dun think something like that exists. One thing is keyboards are not common on all android so development in that respect is a bit lacking i guess. oh dear.........the old dopod with win mobile does have clicks on keypress, if enabled, so at least you know the key has been pressed right.........

the htcsync software is not very good, and presumes one has outlook to backup up contacts and calender. Is there a good free software that will back up all content in the phone to the pc without need to have softwares like outlook?

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Apr 16 2011, 08:41 AM) Just migrated to new 16GB microSD. What a pain in the ass to perform. 1) Format - The phone cannot format and partition a fresh sd card by itself. If formatting has not been done the sd card will not mount. Tried mounting in recovery also didn't work. Need to do formatting on computer. I used the windows built-in one and it worked (though took 30 minutes for a 'full format') 2) Transfer - The real pain is transferring the small files. The limitation of the current implementation is that only one file can be copied at one time. Not a phone problem coz I'm using a card reader to do the copying. More of a technology limitation. isn't it possible to just use 2 card readers, and copy everything from the old to the new sd?.......

i found that by default, if i received a call from an unknown number, and i then save the number in the address book, it automatically save it under google, and i can't change it to phone........
however, when i make a brand new entry, i am asked which i want, google, phone or sim........
is there any way for me to change the numbers saved in google to the phone?...........

I am having a problem with htc sync. i don't normally use outlook, but for this purpose, i have installed ms office outlook 2007.....
however whenever i connect the phone, i get an error message that there is either no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request......
i have set the outlook to default, but it is still not working.....
i don't know why it is so difficult to do simple syncs of data like contacts and calender with the pc.........anybody can help?..........

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ May 10 2011, 01:31 PM) ^I use google calender, so whatever I do on my phone's calender gets updated to my google calender. Anything that syncs with google calender gets synced as well.
Though I don't really have experience in syncing b/w phone and desktop...
i am also having problem with google calender. Although I sync the phone with google, all 3 components, contacts, gmail and calender, the calender online is not updated with the phone calender......... also, is there any way of transferring the content of the old events in outlook to google calender, as i use it as a dairy as well?... i am a bit disappointed with android, it is obviously not a bug free as iphone, where synchronisation is concerned..........

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ May 18 2011, 05:48 PM) Interesting to know the HTC Desire Z still appeals to buyers even at this day. Thought most people would be overwhelmed by the surge of newer and (apparently) better hardware specs. it's the physical keyboard lah.........
