^how is the ZAGG shield for the back side of the phone? is it a clear finish or matte finish?

might buy one coz i heard the aluminium plate has a coating that tends to peel off, how many of you have this peeled coating issue =P
*
am not using ZAGG,use carbon instead.cheaper.lol
its clear btw,not matt.the thing covers the aluminium back cover really well.the downside is the thing doesn't protect camera lens and the corner of the shield if not pro really easy to peel off.

well i used Otterbox before but find it a lil bulky so now it is sitting on the rack... any one wants it can offer me... only casing and rubber protective pad at behind, photo??? u look at my Flickr page smile.gif

BTW guys... Virtuous 2.0 is one of them, another few which u can try is Insertcoin, CoreDroid, Synergy (all those by bro Siulmagic), then there is another which i like a lot Virtuous Doubleshot V1.1.X (Sense 3.0 from MT4G Slide)... too bad i have some problem with doubleshot, i don have signal after i install the latest revision... sad.gif

ah, i better get a proper casing then, but it would definitely add up to the thickness, or more like brickness haha tongue.gif

if you really cant stand it, you can either root and install virtuous sense which is mostly stock with few tweaks brows.gif or use an RUU

to all, if you are using any GingerBread build, I would recommend installing GingerBread Ghostly SMS as there are unexplainable situations of missing SMSes from numerous GB roms on numerous devices. this is a known issue in GB. personally I have managed to recover 6 SMSes in the last 2 months on my G1 doh.gif

This app works by acting as a listener to any incoming SMS and saves them faster than the stock or any 3rd party SMS app.

detailed explanation of the issue and the app is here Gingerbread Ghostly SMS

try SMS2GMAIL too... duno whether is the OS problem or HTC 3.0 integration problem, they do have missing SMS issue...
but after i use Virtuous Doubleshot v1.1.6 :: Sense 3.0 MT4G Slide (Base 1.28.531.9), there is no such problem... just 1 day of usage though... cos it is just released...
this custom ROM is the best i had ever use, frankly it is better than the Official Gingerbread with Sense ROM from HTC too...
but this ROM is by HTC to the US MyTouch 4G Slide... best... cos the device is having similar size of LCD also so better integration, no Amber LED problem, no rotating issue

this sms issue is a bug in the core AOSP of GingerBread build, the problem occurs when the OS kills the sms app (regardless of stock or 3rd party) due to GB auto memory management before it has enough time to save it to disk

Gingerbread Ghostly SMS solves this as it uses very few RAM and quickly save it to it's own database, and if you install it, you would notice that the Ghostly app would sometimes receive the sms up to 2 seconds faster. so far on my desire z, one sms was recovered, and this was when the phone was asleep not doing anything, no opened apps doh.gif

Been following the update on evil D's doubleshot, it has improved a lot in just 2-3 days nod.gif for those looking for slim rom, try xboarder's aosp+cm, the zip file is 90mb only, lol

QUOTE(luminescence69 @ Aug 26 2011, 05:31 PM)
the invisible shield would indeed protect the phone from scratches, but I'm looking for something that protects it from impact as well...
Any idea if anyone is still selling the "Barely There Case" for this model?...  icon_question.gif

With the sense no way... There is lags sometime but better than other sense rom in a total package... If u like aosp then cm is the best, cos it is light and customised... But sense rom is heavy, but u get others stuff that comes with it...

Back up ur current rom and try la... I tried always when i heard ppl say the rom is good... But all the aosp / cm rom does not have what i wanted...
I don mind sacrifice a lil somtimes... The doubleshot is nice sense 3.0 cos it's original owner is very similar with desire z, so a lot of landscape with keyboard stuff is well implemented... The animation is good except the lock screen which has on other sense 3.0 is not there... Look and compare the photos yourself...

wad does this mean?

Kernel 2.6.35.10 Vision Gingerbread kernel. Do NOT use AOSP kernels with this ROM (i.e. Pershoot, Cyanogen).

It's a kernel made for Sense ROMs I think. AOSP and Sense ROMs use different kernels.

don worry, the kernel will come with the ROM... but do not flash another Kernel yourself cos it might be unstable...

nothing... just download the base ROM and the update/patch... 1.1.6b will do, without wifi calling version... it should be working fine...

^^ Error noted and rectified.

Oh and for the time being, RMK will not be posting updates to Virtuous ROMs to XDA due to some issue. He will be maintaining threads at RootzWiki.

Until XDA a) gives me the ability to mod my own threads, b) starts actually moderating, I am pulling every single ROM from their site.

All my ROMs will be moving to Rootzwiki starting today. I'm not speaking for the team, but anything from ME will NOT be on XDA.
