I am getting this next week! Finally after contemplating between Milestone 2 and Desire Z. But we're planning to get the Milestone 2 somewhere next month, CANNOT USE SAME PHONE! Cos we are already using the same mobile at the moment

Got a few n00b questions to ask though, since I've been using Nokia E71 for 3 years, phone still works, but random restarts every few hours annoy me and GPS doesn't want to work properly So here it goes:

1) How to unlock to screen? Press the power button to get the screen then unlock (like iOS)?
2) How to lock it then, same step? Press power button?

Milestone 2(M2) vs Desire z(DZ) differences boils down to the user interface. HTC Sense is niceee!

I am not in KL, so I paid $400 AUD for this baby through an online site (mobicity.com.au)... Don't want to get into contract cos I don't make calls, only data (god bless WhatsApp!). The package comes with free car charger, only 2GB memory (upgraded mine to 8GB), and the usual accessories.

Bf wants Desire Z but i laid my eyes on it first when it came out (took me this long to finally get it... haha). So he has to find another phone that offers the same which is M2

are u getting DZ because of its qwerty keyboard?

sorry but to say, if u dun really need a qwerty then u should really consider phone where ram is >512mb. this amount of ram make my usage so miserable.

Yeah, the reason I want DZ is the keyboard. I email a lot... and of course IM . If only SGS2 comes with qwerty *coughs!*

if u dare, you can order a Mytouch 4g slide from ebay usa. which could give u a way better experience. im planning to upgrade mine to mt4gs, when my g2 staring to fail me.

No keyboard wor? But waiting for Galaxy Note to be released and my bf might get that over M2. I'm pretty okay with DZ's spec

and spec dont speak. wait till u hand itchy and upgrade to sense 3.0 / 3.5. hopefully 3.5 as promised is less hardware intense.

as quoted as one of the world most advanced camera phone. i believe this spec will last longer in the market as dual core processor started to get boost now.

anyway, im tempting myself too. its tough to resist.

oh well, i bought 3 mytouch 4g before. haha, i quite ok with the speed on it compare to mine.

But I don't like the design though ...

the camera is super fast, def on par with N8's, but but, the keyboard, my friend said DZ's is better.

Temptations! I had a G1 before and I resisted DZ from its launch but finally got mine a month ago. But to be honest, i'd rather wait for newer models than buying MT4GS, nowadays dual core 1.5ghz is king, and that is like just after a few months dual core 1.2ghz is released. i'll wait for the market to come out with all these newer products and let the price stabilize first

quite shocked on the RAM though, i was expecting 1gb when they announced the MT4GS. plus plus, kal-el is coming out and also a new chip called grey from Nvidia.

ah sorry for getting too much into the technical stuffs, DZ is still a decent kb phone, but for power user looking for more, an upgrade would def be awesome

Keyboard wise, sidekick from tmobile still a winner. Other than that will be motorola. But eh, dz is way good enough (:

Anyone been using bulletproof miui? I've been on it for many weeks and it works flawlessly especially with the pershoot kernel its perfect on miui. But it seems that when running games, it is not as smooth as cm7. Not all the time while playing, but most of the time gaming can be quite a burden on my dz.

How much did you buy the mytouch4g for?

you can get it cheaper if you buy a reliable 2nd hand one. at swappa.com. the lowest price right now is 210 usd. When would the world see another HD2? it accepts everything man

Skimming thru Ebay, and finding out that its really not that under 1K realm. But really, I'm going to Europe after this and possibly gonna import Mytouch 4G Slide for my usage. Its really is one of the best phone out there, WITH a QWERTY keyboard. And the best camera on any HTC phone (Not that hard to surpass IMHO, all HTC cams are quite underwhelming ha3)

Heck, it wouldn't be too far to call it the keyboard version of Sensation. Because its is one

p/s: I wonder if HTC Malaysia is prepared to repair MT4GS in Malaysia, as its being made by HTC after all. Of course with a fee.

Got my DZ in the mail yesterday, home screen lags as in when to load the icons, wtf. But overall, loving it, still getting used to the keyboard. Ahh, and lots of adapters and a baggy thrown in as well LOL

try updating the phone first. go to settings>aboutphone>software update.
