Yet to get my copy for BF3. Played Crysis 2 and CoD:BO on FHD.

Crysis 2 set to High for smooth gameplay experience. Temp so far so good and I'm dead for working over weekend. So, do u think i have time to game for now?
King indeed as no other user claim their G74SX ownership yet.

Stock clock without fraps. Forgot to install MSI Afterburner and Run Nvidia DX11 SDK to test out the how 128 bit squeeze the DX11 Tessellation performance.

Btw, i do notice there are some minor screen tearing during FHD Gaming even with V-Sync On, which i suspect this could be due to the 128 bit bus limitation affecting the rendering.

If you can play BO on max, you can play MW3 on max too. No graphical improvements at all. laugh.gif

Hey guys, I opened up my G53Jw and noticed that the thermal compound seems to be leaking out? lately my temperatures have been higher than usual. You think this is the cause?

My keyboard feels good.

@DoubleU:

Looks like that's the problem.. But normally it should harden up instead of getting leaky. Weird.. Repasting perhaps?

Its bad application of the thermal pad. If you can get to the GPU, might as well repaste it then.

You can get ICD 7 at dickos extreme at ebay australia for $15. He is fast as i got mine in 4 days.

Just a question, is it hard to disassemble your laptop?

It could be the recent Sydney weather as its hot.

What is your idle and peak load? My GPU idles at 62 to 66C and peaks at 89 to 97C at BF3. CPU is about 53 to 56C.

er... not really. its just alot more effort if you just wanna swap out the hard drive, or ram, or wifi card compared to other laptops. I can dissemble my laptop in just under 10 minutes? That's just up to the point of removing the back panel (along with that you remove the keyboard and the palm rest)

Added on November 10, 2011, 3:36 pmi think i'll just send it to Asus malaysia for repasting? hm... i can't be bother to do it myself la...

btw the compounds is quite soft, i tried cleaning it up (in the middle of the photo, can see some scrapped away) but decided to leave abit for the technician to see in the future

Holy shit Cheese your GPU idles high. Sydney really is THAT hot huh? Loads of my friends complaining about the weather there.

Btw for thermal, paste or pad? Some forums say for laptops best to use pads. Some say paste. zzzz.
