QUOTE(lonelywolf90 @ May 7 2011, 08:52 PM) Lol, for early owners, it wud definitely mean a great loss that the G53 has dropped in value. Asus doesn't let you customize their units. You need to get it from a reseller who does it. I was wondering why though, G53 is a superior gaming rig and they dropped it's price so badly, n it's a G53SW-3DE! Omg, I suppose it would be irresistable n many would grab d laptop before ASUS might change the offer XD I'm looking forward to how much they would offer the G53SX.. I wanna ask, would ASUS help me customize if I asked them to? Eg: Upgrade wifi modem to Intel 6300 Definitely, they'll charge extra, I don't mind that. QUOTE(jaycn67 @ May 7 2011, 09:02 PM) if u see detail of the ads, the G series bundle gift there will be giving gamepack, mouse, and 3D glasses So A1 unit at XA1 pricing? Sold! but it got write while stock last. I think those need buy g-series must take fast action ady |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Jul 4 2011, 01:01 AM) If and only if I have the money, I will buy this . . . everything was revised esp the annoying direction keys. The matte screen was one of the most wanted feature too . . . *for me at least* I feel like getting it now too. Why not you sell off your G73? PS: The throttling worries me a bit though. I don't know why, but I'm really hoping for a 14" ROG lappy to be outed next year at least. Need something to challenge the M14x.

QUOTE(Mr_47 @ Jul 24 2011, 09:45 PM) dude 14' do not have much choices to put the 3dcard inside( due to 3dcard size and power) , so how to beat MX14 ? I personal think Asus ROG cooling design will kick all laptop cooling design in the whole world... especially AW!!!!! Taruk a GT555M or HD6770M and it's plenty powerful enough for a 14". Oh, should also have a 1600 x 900 screen. PS: It is a dream of mine to see if I'm able to mod my laptop with a GTX260M. |

Then I guess we'll have to see what the GT6XXM and HD7XXXM series brings us.

I see GDDR5 becoming commonplace but still being shackled to a weaker chip.

Honestly I wouldn't take Optimus. Manual switching would be more reliable for a gaming setup.

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Jul 30 2011, 12:47 AM) Also nuclear dawn is a very interesting and exciting game coming up. I've been dreaming of this sort of game for years... since i was 13-14 (basically a FPS where soldiers get commands from a real person being the 'commander' Blending the RTS and FPS genres Then you should take a look at Natural Selection 2. QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 1 2011, 10:30 PM) Well for me, any indie game more than 15USD, i wont buy it, as they have pretty much nothing to assure the quality of the game. Especially multiplayer, how do you know you will still find players after 1 month? Yeah, something like Breach. Good game concept and overall solid FPS but the community is pretty dead now. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Aug 2 2011, 08:46 PM) Breach was badly done, where its the one of the best examples why some indie games failed. I wouldn't really call it badly done. It was badly implemented in a sense and lacked support but it was otherwise decent. Still, for $12 I'm not really complaining. Not to forget Monday Night Combat, Lead and Gold, and so on. Never tried Monday Night Combat though. Lead and Gold is... really really lackluster. If it wasn't for that free weekend and sale where it piqued my curiosity, wouldn't even have touched it. Btw, Cheese, any good indie games you played lately or are you sticking to mainstream gaming? Ah true that. Already got most of the games you mentioned, might try out Anomaly though. Not too sure about Limbo, not much of a fan for those kind of games.

QUOTE(syeda7x @ Aug 4 2011, 09:21 AM) hai guys.. im wondering.. does this model exist.. >> Asus G53SX-IX042V.. It's a new model. I wouldn't say much difference between the G53SW except for the new GPU - GTX560M. Problem is, don't know whether it's using the full GPU or a crippled one yet.i try to find a review on this model but it seems i could not find it.. Need your help |

2GB GTX560M is definitely crippled. No way you can put 2GB onto a 192-bit bus.

Some GTX460M in the G73SW from BestBuy have been found to be crippled too.

QUOTE(JaWeKuSuDoKu @ Aug 8 2011, 04:01 AM) BTW.. before buying this BST6.. I did some research for myself.. compared to JH and JW.. SW got more improvement compared to those 2 before.. so I guess time will tell whether this SW-BST6 is reliable or not.. and if it's start to shown that it had problem.. I will update it here.. and as for me, if I'm a Heavy Gamers, my personal choice of notebook will be from Falcon Northwest.. for it's low-profile looks and hidden beast under the hood.. because I don't like people staring at at my laptop.. Falcon Northwest uses the Sager chassis as their base and those are even more cost effective and low profile. |
