So that thermal compound is the Asus applied by default or after u repasted?
If its Asus then it could be Asus Technician fault.
Did u clean the Thermal compound(including the leaked ones) when u try to repaste it?

Cheesenium is using G73JH, its a HD5870m dude. Not GTX 560M.
Thermal Paste for CPU and GPU core. Thermal Pad for GPU Vrams.

That GPU Peak temp is ok. I think ur temp can still be lower if u clear the vent dust and the fan dust.

Piece of advise: After repasted, remember to clear the fan fins and dust stuck at the small edges. To enabled the thermal paste spread on itself, remember to run Furmark for GPU pasteand Prime95(or any other CPU Stressing program) to allow the CPU paste to melt and spread across the cores.

hm, i didn't repaste at all, i opened up my laptop to clear dust and change my hard drive. then i noticed the thermal paste. Probably gonna get Asus to do it for me... but duno might just not bother about it until next year when laptop warranty is expiring. want to play games, don't wanna sacrifice time. Next year no time to play anymore =(

u can change the settings to 'external speakers' so that the speakers sound louder and deeper..

try plugging in earphones or headphones, then u can hear the diff with THX effects on and off..

there's not running from a proper sound card if you want better quality, but before splurging out on expensive hardware check if you really need it. i swear some of my friends will swear by grado headphones but i hate their open air design. supposed to be accurate representation of music but that's mainly for jazz blues those genres...

Side note, steam forums hacked, so those of us with steam accounts might be fine... but i did use the forums so i'm changing all my passwords... except those like lowyat cause ain't really bothered if they hack this....

so if i start saying weird stuff like offering you guys vi@gra pills... you know what happen.

BTW, I'm a Grado fanboy. It's true what you have said, cuz it's personal preference. I prefer open air design because the soundstage is very much wider and the bass sounds more natural for me. Their sound signature is more 'in your face' compared to other headphones.

So far i match THX with my HTC earphone, haven't try the SS in-ear ones, and my Sony Bassy In-ear.

I bought a syringe of IC Diamond 7 as recommended by notebook reviews as the results on a lot of different brands, from Asus to Sager, the results are impressive such as a 6990 drop from 93 to 81C, just changing stock to ICD7.

Man, 560GTX is pretty cool. 5870 is rather hot IMO.

I dont even bother downloading it.

Bought Skyrim instead.

hmm. i got razer abyssus for the mouse. anyone else got that? i thought im supposed to get asus' gaming mouse? lol but i like it tho, shape's nicer:) just not used to the keyboard.

yea when i game some games especially if i need the mic i use my creative soundblaster xfi 5.1 surround and my Roccat Kave. But honestly? Go get a more comfortable virtual 7.1 surround headphone from razer or steelseries or logitech or whichever you prefer. Comfort more important since the quality of real 5.1 and virtual 7.1 not much different.

The asus one (old one) was just a rebranded abyssus, so no difference.
Keyboard light if the top right button to turn the lights on and off not working, try Fn F4, the one to control the brightness. Sometimes its on lowest, i.e off.

use the cd key at the bottom of your laptop, the windows sticker there. Its legal.

startup, disable those useless stuff. I use ccleaner to disable them. There's a way to check which stuff is slowing ur startup time to help you turn off stuff, but i forgot what that software was
