lol..check this out.. news regarding g53sx with the poor man's 560m
http://technopat.net/forum/blogs/burak-alk...-bit-1-5gb.html http://www.notebook4game.com/web/50128/rev...sus-g53s/page/4 not sure if credible or not, but i think the graphical performance of the SX should be similar to that of the SW with the 460m. the 2nd link is actually a review of the SX done in Thai... and i cant quite understand why the SX is more expensive than the SW.. rm4999 vs rm4699.. maybe becuz of the naked eye 3d perhaps?? Added on August 10, 2011, 1:02 amgood info about the 560m 128 bit for the SX http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gamin...0m-192-a-5.html This post has been edited by trustmeiamlegit: Aug 10 2011, 01:02 AM |

QUOTE(juststayreal @ Aug 12 2011, 03:25 AM) o ...now i saw that sentence "except G53SX-SZ039V" .. it was not written yesterday right? or i rabun mata? unfortunately, no.. both g53s models are using the 128bit 1.. only the g74sx using the 192bit so IX042V is using the 192 bits GC while SZ039V use downgrade 128 bit lo for details on how the 128bit 560m perform in games, go see my post, last 2 pages back i think |

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Aug 24 2011, 09:00 PM) thanks!! 3d is quite cool !! hahaAdded on August 25, 2011, 12:10 am QUOTE(jckok888 @ Aug 24 2011, 10:51 PM) I am interested G53SX too. got few questions: no naked eye (1) got Naked 3d? can see 3d screen without using the 3d glasses? (2) The highest resolution is 1920 x 1200 or 1368 x 768? i knew 3d mode is 1368 x 768 but how about without 3d? Thanks without 3d also 1368x768 (its d highest), but the 120hz refresh thingy makes up for it me thinks, the screen is really nice and bright... @mr rock
imo, at hd resolution, 460m/560m perform roughly the same.. but at full hd resolution, 460m performs better becuz of the larger bandwitdh.. since the g53sx n sw 3d models have resolution up to 1366x768 only, i woudnt worry too much abt the performance difference.. some of them r even saying that at lower reso, the 560m performs abit more better than the 460m, maybe becuz the 560m has a higher core/shader clock.. of cuz, i have no prove to the above claim, i just base what i said on a theoretical post from nbr (post #44, username: Bill Nye): http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gamin...0m-192-a-5.html no naked 3d yet.. but the if u click on the link below, and click on 'bios' , ull see something abt naked eye 3d support. so far nobody tried to update their bios yet http://my.asus.com/Notebooks/Gaming_Powerh...G53SX/#download This post has been edited by trustmeiamlegit: Sep 9 2011, 12:32 PM |

QUOTE(skip @ Sep 19 2011, 05:11 PM) 560m cacat FTWinrar! at 768p , performance is similar to 460m 1.5gb 192bit.. i got the g53sx 3de; i compared my ingame fps, using the same settings (using stock driver, since the review was done many months ago) with this review: http://tbreak.com/tech/2011/03/asus-g53sw-...ebook-review/3/ the fps i got for all the games were quite similar (TF2, c2, sc2), except for crysis 2 in 3D.. for some reason i got much higher fps than the guy... but one thing i like about the m14x is that it looks very portable... very compact.. and looks easy to carry around on a day2day basis.. the g53 is built like a tank and weighs like a tank This post has been edited by trustmeiamlegit: Sep 19 2011, 08:47 PM |

QUOTE(masCh @ Sep 22 2011, 12:02 AM) dang, so they order one by one? Argh, then I might as well buy the 3D version.. I need it by next week before going outstation. no naked eye 3d out of the box... confirm.. but there was a bios update released in august that enables naked eye 3d.. but nobody tried yet By the way, the 3D version doesn't have that camera-tracks-your-face passive 3D technology right? And are these G-series extendable to 3 years international or no? not sure abt the warranty extension |

did a dirt 3 benchmark using the same settings in this review:http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-G74SX-3DE-Gaming-Notebook.56809.0.html
at high preset, 768p and 2xAA: i got around 91 avg fps, while the review had a score of 82.3 avg fps i think the increase of my fps score is becuz im using a newer driver, 280.26, which gives a good performance boost and fps to certain games... |

QUOTE(havocchin @ Sep 23 2011, 02:23 PM) Wow...wonderful! Thanks... this was done using high preset + 2xAA @ 1366x768 (same settings as the g74sx review) .. i did this to compare with the g74sx dirt3 benchmark as it was done using 768p also.. (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Asus-G74SX-3DE-Gaming-Notebook.56809.0.html)Already the max preset? I wonder what is the limit of G53SX, so is there any higher settings that you can use, like AA to the max, or sort of. Hopefully the Ave FPS can still above the minimum, even with EVERYTHING MAXed OUT. Hope to hear from you about the result soon i usually play at ultra preset with ambient occlusion to high instead of ultra, 2xAA and vsync on ... the benchmark test resulted in around 62 +/- fps.. during gameplay, i can feel the fps dropping when drifting during gymkhana where alot of dust accumulated on the screen hahaha |

QUOTE(masCh @ Sep 25 2011, 12:04 AM) So I bit the bullet and bought the 3D version. @havocchinQuite fun though, but keeps crashing. Downloading Win7 64 bit now, and going to try to reinstall everything. This downloading everything has taken the entire day! I don't have Dirt 3, or any games at the moment, so I can't test the benchmark with you. But can you download the NVIDIA 3D Vision Technology Demo's i) Endless City ii) Supersonic Sled Can you tell me if the graphics are stuttering and slow? I can't check FPS, but I think I am getting about <10 FPS on Endless City (3D mode), and on both these programs I keep getting booted back to desktop, while the music is still playing in the background. I have to start Task Manager and end the process. This happens all the time that now I am worried if my GPU is substandard or broken. I hope after I reinstall everything, it will give better results. Also downloading 3DMark11 now, which I will test after reinstall. I think by tomorrow night I will have a working machine again. Wish me luck! ok ill do it when im free haha @masCh k ill dload it when i have time.. and, have u played any games on it?? have u updated ur nvdia driver?? cud be a driver issue is ur 3d working?? run the 3d test... try watching the 3d video demo This post has been edited by trustmeiamlegit: Sep 25 2011, 12:29 AM |
