Guys, which shop would have the G53SX that has the price tag RM3999?

3D & Blu-Ray is not a priority for me so i'm opting for this, mainly because of the price tag. For the specs it's really tempting me. Perfect upgrade from my BenQ S57.

Is there 2 HDD's inside as advertised?

Thanks guys, hopefully i get to join the ROG fam. biggrin.gif

For me the 128-bit don't bother me too much. For the price, i think it's damn worth it, which is why i'm getting mine soon. biggrin.gif

@bushido, congrats on your purchase? Care to share the specs and details of your new baby? eg. where you got it from, your experience in purchasing the laptop.

and then when your laptop arrives, unboxing pics and your review and feelings on your new baby biggrin.gif
*
It's exactly the same as the G53SX 3D. i7-2630QM, GTX560M 2GB DDR5, 4GB DDR3 RAM, two 500GB HDD. It's just missing the 3D screen and blu-ray disc drive. For me the 3D and Blu-ray is not much of a priority as i have a budget. I ordered from the Asus Centre (Evernew) at Mid Valley actually. They say they're kind of the main distributor as all the product launches are done there FIRST. So my order might arrive earlier compared to Lowyat.

NOTE: the 3D G53SX is already available, jsut that the non-3D one has not arrived yet. 1 month waiting period, just like what some had said here.

About the performance, I'm not sure yet as I haven't have a long-hour hands-on, on the G53SX. But from what i read and from what i experienced from the showroom unit, it certainly appeals to me esp. the looks. drool.gif Good enough to last me a good 4-5 years as well.

DEFINITELY. I'll do a review and unboxing. Love doing reviews tongue.gif

Bushido what type of G53SX that you pruchase.. is it th RM 3,999?

just now i went to c-zone at digital mall and.. they said that the 3,999 wil not be in malaysia... i was shock... is it true.. ?

can any i one claify on this matter?
*
I don't think it's true, because it's listed right inside the Asus Official Brochure already. Yup I'll be getting the RM3999 one.

I ask all of them in Lowyat that carries the G-Series, they all either say, not here yet gotta wait one month OR they need to take order.

The one i went to was the Asus Centre in Mid Valley. Very nice guy, told me that it will be coming in one month time. He will call me right when it's here.

Hmmm, as i've heard, whenever you run in 3D mode, your FPS gets cut down to half & it stresses your GPU even more. Is that true?

It's just that G53SX Non-3D and G74 is harder to get now. No problems with the G53SW and G53SX (3D)

No idea. Can't tahan anymore, 1 month man.

G74SX reviewed. Pretty great review but suffers from not so good audio.

HAHAHA @Cheese: I get you man. The thing is, most of the spy and sniper lovers/players are M'sians. tongue.gif I have no idea why players think that a team would need like 4 or more spies or snipers. Oh, sometimes engis too.

Medics will be the scarce one when they're really the needed ones. tongue.gif

The seller ask the distro, distro says 3 weeks at most.

a Core i7 2720/2760QM will be pending as i need to lookout for lowest price i can get for QS/ES model.
*
What do you mean? You're replacing the i7-2630M into a 2720/2760?

Now that you've reminded me, I've always wanted to ask, can we swap to a more powerful processor on top of the current 2630? Because as I know, XOTICPC and others offer upgrades to processors as well. Can we do the same ourselves? Buy the processor chip and upgrade. or the MB won't support? hmm.gif

I'll have to attempt to disassemble the laptop apart to check if the CPU is soldered but most probably not soldered. CPU is parts from Intel instead of Asus(the gpu), so my guess its not soldered generally. CPU swap is still able to be performed on one's risk.

Newer Processor Upgrade such as core i7 2760qm, 2860qm, 2960xm might required a motherboard bios upgrade(from my desktop experience).
*
Well if it's just a BIOS upgrade then i don't mind upgrading the proc in future. biggrin.gif
