Amanah as the name implies is based on Islamic principles. So you can't use it for clubbing  tongue.gif  and non-halal transactions.

Anyway, please note that HSBC overseas transaction is high, read the last few pages of the previous thread.

This is so true when my Ikhwan AMEX got rejected when I wanted to pay for dinner at non-halal Japanese restaurant.

Sir,

I want to ask, if i want to make full settlement of my credit card.. is there such thing as discount? I heard before but not sure its real or not...

2nd, let say I have 7k of cash n 7k of credit credit card debt...
should I pay that amount or do something else with that cash..

appreciate ur kind advise..
*
There's no such thing of discount if you settled the CC bill before the statement/bill due date.

However, if you have other CC from another bank that offers balance transfer at attractively low interest; i.e 0% for 6/12 months, you can transfer the outstanding to that CC. By doing so, you can utilize your cash for other revolving purpose; not getting into more debts.

Make a wise decision.

They're roughly the same but some banks favours towards one of them like CIMB for MC and Maybank Visa.

On top of that, sometime, the promo may not be the same as well.

icic. So no one call you for verification regarding your DA application. They just call you that your card has been approved, issit?

Same goes to me. They didn't call me if I remembered correctly.

Petrol rebate, weekend rebates and restaurant discounts.
*
DA MC is not my primary card. Even they're lucrative, the only reason I'm still keeping my DA MC is their BT deal and the limit they offered to me compared to MBB.

I hold the card before and canceled it 2 weeks ago, limit given is RM6,000. There is 5 colours embedded in the card, and colour will change from different angle.

This card only enjoy reward points, thus no cash megabonus like other PB cards.

The limit given by DA to me is the highest among my other cards, so which is ur primary card?
*
MBB Ikhwan AMEX is primary CC for everything except petrol

MBB Petronas Visa is meant for petrol, autopay/auto-debit, installment and places which do no accept AMEX.

treat points given at all transaction, not only at petronas. just at petronas can get 5x. so pump rm2200 can redeem fuel rm10 voucher already.

but for comparison, CIMB Petronas swipe at petronas rm1000 can get back rm20 already whistling.gif

while OCBC Ti rm1000 can get back rm50, at all petrol station sweat.gif

of coz permanently. never heard such as temporary  sweat.gif
*
MBB offers temporary credit limit increase and of course, you can opt for permanent increase as well.

QUOTE(ck_tonny @ Dec 18 2010, 05:45 PM)
I set my AMEX gold credit card as primary card before, after 1 year of usage I putted it into drawer due to low acceptance. Good news is 15% cashback is back again, and MR points that I earn can cover 2 years GST.

Now left only DA MC and HLB visa in my wallet.

Any new privilege from MBB Petronas Visa? (owned it before and canceled it in Feb this year)
*
Besides from the 5x TP with Petronas. I don't see any attractive deal with it. That's why seldom use it for usual swipe.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Dec 18 2010, 05:45 PM)
Well it is a fact that most of us know that Maybank Credit Cards (excluding AMEX) have the lowest admin fees for overseas transaction but is there a difference between using Visa or MasterCard? Below is a table showing my transactions in Singapore with different cards.

user posted image

Check out the my transactions on 26th November where payments were made to same company for purchase of Universal Studios ticket with DAWMB and MBB Pet Visa. The conversion rate is almost the same!

If you guys recall, zenquix mentioned before that his Alliance MC rate was lower than Alliance Visa for overseas transactions. The fact is for Visa cards, MBB the best but we should now find out MBB MC versus other MasterCards.

If you very free, to read more on my comments on table above, click below link to My Credit Cards:

DA was the first to offer 0% BT and they are very efficient and payment made about a week from application.

And David, i am surprised you asked what is good with DA? Use it at KFC and Burger King!
Canton-i also got extra points with DA smile.gif Too bad they no longer have the sweet bun.
*
I'm aware of those promo at those places but I'm not a frequent diner at those place. Fast food is not my favourite choice when comes to food. Canton-i is a little dear for normal working day lunch/dinner with colleagues. tongue.gif

if really looking for petronas rebates, told already.

mbb petronas = swipe rm2200 can get rm10 only!
cimb petronas = swipe rm2200 can get rm44
da mastercard = swipe rm2200 can get rm44
ocbc titanium = swipe rm2200 can get rm100 / rm50 next year (based on max capped)

so, why mbb? tongue.gif
*
MBB is convenient for payment since I have saving account and M2U with MBB. I don't have saving with CIMB and lazy to go to CDM. The availability of OCBC branches is pretty limited.

Judging from all the factors, MBB wins top of the my personal criteria even deals is not the best in the market but acceptable.

By the way, thanks for bringing up the comparison and I may have slip that out in the previous posts.

That's why I rather stick with MBB. I'm not a MBB hardcore supporter.

Unless pay RM 2 for IBG to pay CC from other banks.

If I recall correctly, MBB Petronas gets 10X TP on first day of the month.  That means a swipe of RM100 gets 1,000 pts, equivalent to RM4.54, still OK not too bad.
*
10x TP, are you sure? I'm not aware of this. Where you get this info?

Hmm for CC replacement due to faulty chip, how can we talk to them and convince them the chip is faulty? As mine sometime works sometime don't...
My card is Amex Gold CC... 75% of the chip is rusted with dark brown color now...
*
I'm not sure if the branch has machine to verify/test the card.

I think I made such complain before on my Ikhwan AMEX.

The counter personnel took my card, rubbed the chip with an eraser and asked me to try again in the next swipe. If problem persists, go back again. sweat.gif
