While we all know recruitment choices is made based on various choices, saying it 'depends' is like asking what the weather is, and someone replies 'who knows?'

Not exactly useful, is it?

Anyone go to IT Show today? I got there at about 3pm and it was already quite crowded. Packed in some places on level 6 where the booths of the shops from Sim Lim and Funan were. Level 4 where the brand owners was less crowded.

I was looking for 32gb micro sdhc cards for my Tab and it was still too expensive... $90 for Class 4... three times the price of 16gb. Most places were selling at list price... nothing special. Only exception was Mega which was selling 40" Samsung full HD LED pure black TVs at $999. Almost went for that one.

None of the new Android tablets to be seen, and no sign of the iPad2. No unveils or first looks at all... way too much accessories.

My only purchase ended up being a ciplak AC charger & sync cable for the tab. Roundly, not much of a show, really.

The last time I went for such IT show was years ago. Buy online has more options and can compare prices easily. Price almost same as list Price and some vendor use this opportunity to clear old stock. IMO the only reason to go such fair is the last minute clearance sales but you have to endure the heat.

Don't know if I should start looking for work back in Malaysia just in case this fall through ^^;;; don't plan on staying at home to plant mushrooms after graduating...

I dun think renewing will result in rejected as the company will surely find a way to get mom renew it.
*
Some company can't renew your pass, because

A) Quota finished. The company use up all the quota to hiring for S-Pass or WP or EP, and need to hire Singaporean to contribute
the CPF and increase the quota volume.
B) Company forget to pay CPF... its happen... (after they pay, the quota will be appear the next month, 3rd of the month)

Cheers nod.gif

How is the job market now in Singapore? Are there a lot of Malaysians being hired at the moment? Also, if they reply that they want to interview you, do you purposely fly/take bus/train/drive to Singapore just for the interview?
