How long to process the apply of the employment pass?
If signed the offer letter and reject by MOM. How is going on? Packing all the back to Malaysia?

QUOTE(seantang @ Mar 10 2011, 11:58 PM) Anyone go to IT Show today? I got there at about 3pm and it was already quite crowded. Packed in some places on level 6 where the booths of the shops from Sim Lim and Funan were. Level 4 where the brand owners was less crowded. I thought the price for a 32GB micro SD was around 100++ at least.I was looking for 32gb micro sdhc cards for my Tab and it was still too expensive... $90 for Class 4... three times the price of 16gb. Most places were selling at list price... nothing special. Only exception was Mega which was selling 40" Samsung full HD LED pure black TVs at $999. Almost went for that one. None of the new Android tablets to be seen, and no sign of the iPad2. No unveils or first looks at all... way too much accessories. My only purchase ended up being a ciplak AC charger & sync cable for the tab. Roundly, not much of a show, really. Ipad2 just recently announced in US so logically singapore wont get it so soon, wait around 3-4 months down the road for it to appear. Thats how vendors make money from, accessories are the way to go. Especially ipad and iphone accessories. |

Let me share my knowledge about rejection by MOM.
Appeal is basically up to the hiring company. I have seen a company appeal for 2-3 times for someone I know. Apparently the reason rejected previously were (we are suspecting only as MOM does not disclose) unrecognized tertiary education and the pay being too high (for this, hiring company needs to enclose justification on why you are worth that much) From what that person told me, the company is also appealing for another employee for like the fifth time and still ongoing. |

I tot have to do some studies on the lens first? like which lens is for scenery and another lens for other things? When you purchase a Dslr, you can purchase the one that bundle with kitlens. |

QUOTE(rickysim84 @ Mar 11 2011, 05:56 PM) Just to feel the body only ah? I tot have to do some studies on the lens first? like which lens is for scenery and another lens for other things? well lens can be later if u havent got a body yet. What i mean the 'feel' here is u hav to try out the weight, build, ease of use, n the button layout in ur own hands. different people hav different preferences so its very important that u are comfortable with the body that u intended to get. for example i dont quite like some Canon bodies bcoz of my fingers not so convi in reaching out to some buttons, while my fren doesnt like certain models of Sony as they are too light for him. as a start, like felicious say, get a kit lens bundle n off u go. Most of the kit lens 18-55 or 18-105 are good enough for most situations d. |

May i know wat is 18-55 and 18-105? lol.
Then i might be going for some DSLR at the price range of 1.5k with lens. Hmm, which brand is good i am not tat sure also. My mind only have olympus, canon and sony or maybe Panasonic. But Canon camera seems crappy for me, i mean for the compact one, not for the DSLR |

Pentax do hav some good body too, while i hardly see anyone using Olympus n Panasonic - their cams are not really DSLR technology anyway as far as i know |
