Becoz for 4mbps user, the normal allocation is 3.3-4mbps. So they should be fair to 4 mbps user that they allocate 4mbps.

What I really mean was that many 1mbps user was getting 1.5-1.7mbps during off-peak hours. It is just not fair. coz for 2mbps & 4 mbps user, they are not getting the full speed that they are subscribe to?

Thinking of complaining this to SKMM.

My meaning of off peak is when the line is not congested.

What package are you on? 1mbps or 2mbps?

All the above is what i'm talking about, user getting more than what they subscribe for, 1mbps getting 1.5mbps. I will complaint to TM & SKMM for them to investigate this matter. Becoz they should be getting what they subscribe for. Coz most of the 2-4 mbps ppl are not getting the full bandwidth they are subscribing to .

i understand where you are coming from. We agree that TM sucks, but what i mean here is many a times, 1 mbps package users are getting 1.5 mbps, you refer to some of the post here. So what i'm talking here is let 2 - 4 mbps user to also at least get speed test of 3 - 6 mbps, considering 1.5 mbps is 50% higher than 1mbps.

But we all agree that TM should increase their bandwidth to cater for more users.

Actually I think they are not able to solve it until they increase their bandwidth. Coz surely at night many ppl using, so it will be slow. So we should not hope for fast solution. I'm also experiencing the same problem.

I think is that there is no competition now in the market for wired ISP. I agree that laying network & increasing bandwidth is expensive but TM has already monopoly the market for so long, the profit should have more than enough to cover the initial investment.

Take for example the mobile phone, before there was competition, the price for monthly fee was very expensive, now with many players in the market, the price is getting more affordable.

Competition is the way to go.

Added on November 25, 2010, 5:29 pmAlso like CPU processor, remember when AMD was not competitive, intel pricing was very high, then when AMD got competitive, the prices came down, it is the same everywhere, when there is no competition, there is no incentive to reduce price.

My internet connection is slow at night from 8-1am regardless of the connection be it local or international. All local server speedtest is only 512kbps. international is the same. Use the time proxy or the tmnet proxy is of no use to me.
BTW i'm on the 4mbps package from penang.

So my situation is diff, not international cap only. I think it is more of server congestion.
