Sorry if this has been discussed (can't find it ) but can you guys plays youtube in true 4K using built in tv apps ?

I have KS7000 but can never get it, highest is 2560 x 1440 but mostly 1080 only. Using 50Mbps Unifi.

Google search , there are few reports but seems no clear answer, thanks.

Yes, no problem at all. You connect through LAN cable or WiFi?

If WiFi, try to use 5GHz connection

No problem on my side as well (KS7000)

I'm using 50mbps Unifi WiFi (Wireless AC connection) 5ghz.

EDIT also take note 4k content is pretty much limited in Youtube, Try to search for 4K channel (those that uploaded most of the TV Demo video), and open up Stats for Nerds.

It should be at full 3840 resolution (4k)

Yes trying those demo 4k or movie trailer in 4k channel, stats for nerds still shows max 2560x1440
Firmware 1180
Other forum ,there’s suggestion to pause and let buffer to fill up, still same

Might be a bug with the app.

Try using WiFi 5GHz band. Apparently someone use it as a workaround to get 4k.

Doesnt seem to like only affect KS7000, since owner of Q7, LG and etc also reporting such issue.

For display set the best method is personally check the unit out (you can arm yourself with an older Samsung TV remote to access the service menu to check the total panel on time as well)

Check the back panel whether it is glued to the display without issue (KS7000 is notorious to have back panel separation, and display unit usually will be more than home unit as they on it for prolonged period so heat speeds up the separation)

Pair your smart phone to the TV, run LCD test (all color, find dead pixels) and check for color banding

Run it on total black/gray screen, check for Uniformity, make sure not too much light clouding.

Check the Backlight as well.

Lol.. Chill bro.. All this for a display set and have to drive to and from from JB?... Nah, ain't worth it.. I get why though, personally.. I just won't ... It's an entry-level TV, not a lifelong dream car or house. laugh.gif

Edit: if one goes looking for all that on a display set of one of the most sought after models in recent times.. Sure find the defect. ignorance is bliss i say.. smile.gif

Never believe what they say. Display set only used 3 mths is the standard reply from all salesmen . The true fact is their 3 mths mean at least 8 mths , 10 hrs a day switched on biggrin.gif

There's a channel in Youtube (4K HDR channel) that have a lot of 4K video with HDR. A lot of Youtubers (like Singapore NOC) also shoot some of their travelogue in 4K already.

You need around 25mbps to stream 4K video smoothly

Late reply (wasn't home) , tried using Wifi 5GHz still same , the connection speed in stats for nerds always hover around 9000Kbps regardless of connection method.
Speedtest.net figures around 50-52 Mbps but on Fast.com its about 10Mbps,
When playing youtube 4k on my desktop I can get true 4K with the same connection speed in stats for nerds.

That's why you can't get 4k video. It requires at least 20mbps speed. Your pc might be showing 4k resolution, but I think it's compromised quality.

From your speed test at fast.com, I think your speed is being throttled by unifi when streaming video.

Guys, an update

Today Samsung tech guy come and check the TV. Confirm TV suffer from backlight bleeding. So he change to new panel. After change done. Replacement panel backlight bleeding more worst than the original panel. Dem... So he suggest me either get a full money refund or get new set of TV which I have to wait another 7 working days. I ask for new set of TV. If new set of TV still problem then I will request full refund. Dem I should get Sony x700e instead.
