QUOTE(tohff7 @ May 30 2017, 12:26 PM) Hello guys, 55KS7000 is back on 11street for RM5000. Different seller though (probably clearing stock for new MU/QLED models). Grab it while it's still available http://www.11street.my/productdetail/samsu...ks7000-37719586Seller from Penang. Btw I thought someone recently pointed out Best Denki Subang P was selling new for RM4,8xx ? But by now surely already sold out.

QUOTE(tohff7 @ May 30 2017, 03:19 PM) No idea. I think stock is quite scarce. So last month, i ended up buying a display unit from Harvey Norman for RM5K with 2+3-years warranty and free surge protector I also bought a KS7000 display set from Best 1 U for Rm 4k. Samsung technicians also came and changed a new panel at the shop itself (the display panel was slightly defective) before I inspected and paid for it when fully satisfied. But no extended warranty though. At home I checked the hidden service menu and estimate the unit was switched on about 8 months if I presume they work 10 hours a day. Before that the salesman said the set was on display for only 3 mths although I didn't really believe him. That's why he's a salesman This post has been edited by Ngto: May 31 2017, 07:22 AM

When I mentioned some other place was selling for rm 4,8xx they were willing to match the price. However it was still out of my budget so I bought the display set from Best 1U instead. QUOTE(tohff7 @ May 31 2017, 12:38 PM) Yea, display unit for RM4K is about right. In my invoice from Harvey Norman, the TV was also around RM4K while the additional 3-year warranty is RM800-900. Btw, how do you access the hidden service menu? I suppose you need to use the other type of Samsung remote? Cos the 1 given for KS7000 is a slick and minimal buttons 1. I believe they still earn a few hundred at least. I bought the rm30/- master remote (third party brand) from Best Denki. I used this sequence (while TV is in standby):- Display/Info + Menu + Mute + Power (Press quickly) To exit just press the Power button again. (Be very careful. Don't accidentally change anything).

QUOTE(veron208 @ Jun 5 2017, 09:48 AM) "display set" = refurbished set ? Difficult for find new set for this model Why so difficult to understand. Display set is the set they use to display at the shop showroom. When new sets sold out/almost sold out they will sell off the showroom display set as well at much lower price. Just a matter of whether you feel it's worth it or not since it's switched on for display at the shop for many months. Anyway you still get the full warranty from Samsung starting from your purchase date. This post has been edited by Ngto: Jun 5 2017, 11:25 AM

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Jun 6 2017, 10:37 PM) Hey guys, Just wanted to share with your my experience with Samsung Customer Service for the issue I had with my KU6000. I had this flickering issue with my TV. Thought i'm gonna have a hard time to claim the warranty but it was a breeze. I kinda neglected the issue as it was not a deal breaker for me. Called TB where I bought my TV on Wednesday and I was informed someone from Samsung will call me soon. Expected to be contacted about a week but I got a call on Friday saying a technician will check my issue. Technician came by and looked at my issue. It's a legit issue and most 4k TV would encounter it as per him. He wasn't surprised and immediately he concluded to replace my panel. Thought the Panel replacement would take a week or so but the part came on Monday! So the Technician removed the old panel and replaced it with the new one just like that. I was told that parts were made in Vietnam and it's a brand new one. Noticed a difference in terms of overall picture quality. So far, I'm happy with their service albeit the issue I encountered. My story. When I verbally agreed to buy the KS7000 Display set at the shop , I noticed the bottom left corner area got light escaping from 2 spots. The salesman reported to Samsung Centre and made appointment with them to check the panel. I didn't even have to pay first. Few days later I visited the shop just to browse, and by chance the Samsung technicians happened to be there taking photographs of the defect. They said will take a few days to bring in a new panel to replace. After a few days when I went to the shop again the new panel was already changed and ready. I checked the set from top to bottom and when fully satisfied I happily paid for it Really and pleasantly surprised by Samsung Service. This post has been edited by Ngto: Jun 7 2017, 03:16 AM

QUOTE(Haruji Sora @ Jun 7 2017, 06:51 PM) That looks bad. It's like one of the edge backlight went kaput. Since he said flickering, not completely kaput yet. At critical stage .

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Jun 17 2017, 06:29 AM) DAMN! upgraded my software to 1180. Tried to play PS4 Pro and now it won't trigger the HDR notification. Tried to downgrade but the OS is only able to search for software that are higher or latest via usb. CRAP! Actually the so called hidden HDR mode is just the Dynamic mode, one and the same. If you play the Retail HDR1000 Quantum Dot demo you will see it just go into Dynamic mode (can check with the picture settings options) , nothing more. You can download HDR demos (like LG OLED Chess demo) and play it in Standard mode ('HDR' mode will auto enabled), and then play it in Dynamic Mode (HDR will not enable because it is already in HDR mode). They look the same. ----------------------------------------- Ok, did some further comparison, and on closer examination there are some slight differences. So I guess I am wrong. The Dynamic mode is not the same as HDR mode. But it's difficult to tell the difference unless really examining closely. This post has been edited by Ngto: Jun 17 2017, 09:03 AM

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Jun 17 2017, 08:47 AM) Using a KU6000. Normally, I would get that notification that says HDR video is playing. After the update, it doesn't kick in anymore only way I can think of is downgrade but it couldn't install lower firmwares. It only searches for the latest one Sorry, I forgot you are on KU series. Luckily my KS still only available only 1169.2 fw. Maybe I better be cautious when 1180 become available.

QUOTE(drunkonpiss @ Jun 19 2017, 05:39 PM) Hey guys, just an update regarding with firmware update 1180, the HDR doesn't give you a prompt however, I noticed that when I click the PS4/Console in the HDMI settings, information would say HDR/UHD 3840x2160 so i'm guessing it's playing HDR content minus the notification which I personally prefer. When i'm the PS4 Pro Menu, it would only say UHD 3840x2160. Other than the above negative , did you notice any positives from the Firmware?

QUOTE(Haruji Sora @ Jun 22 2017, 05:43 PM) I havent update yet, on avsforum alot of ppl say PQ has improvd greatly. At least yesterday it didnt prompt me to update so I guess maybe it's not up yet in Asia servers? KS7000-It was already available Samsung Malaysia few days ago.
