I meant centralized push like how BBM, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare work on the BB platform - immediate notification, no stupid shit like polling every number of hours or so. Man, I really miss the superb notification features on my old (now dead) BB Curve 8900.. K-9 push mail on SGS works nearly 90% as well as the push mail on the BB, so no big issue for me.

Palm.. I miss my old Treo too. Somehow I never quite liked the Pre.

I presume u can't use Samsung's Social Hub anymore after you upgraded to Froyo fw? The push email by Samsung is quite good.

mV=milivolt. Not current. The voltage is not device specific; depends on cell chemistry.

Li-on max voltage: 4.2V
Absolute max: 4.25V (more than this = plating occurs = high internal resistance = high heat production = oxygen build up = battery buldge = potential hazard)
Nominal: 3.7V
Safe low voltage: 3V (lower than this = premature deterioration)

yeah..thanks for the info mengsuan rclxms.gif
so far mine is about 4.24v max and its good! thumbup.gif

Wow, I just found out how to play by folder, in the default music player. Just open music player, go to settings, then 'music menu' and check on 'folders'. Yay!!

Note : I'm running JPM, not sure if older firmwares have this..
*

Samsung Music Player is one of the best music player for android right now, it just lack widget.

The Push email service in Samsung's Social Hub is actually a rebrand of Seven's service. You should be able to download the apk for Froyo from Seven's website iianm. I don't quite like the idea of a separate email app just for Seven's push email though - it was much better on WinMobile where the inbox was integrated directly into Pocket Outlook.

Not sure about the social hub thing, but email is already ok for me now, with K-9. I just miss the push notifications for Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare.. Keeping Tweetdeck (last time I used Seesmic) up to date via interval-based polling is killing my batt, I think.

I see the Social Hub icon in my JPM firmware phone, so I am guessing it's available for Froyo now..

There's an "All Emails" tab in the Samsung's email program.

Is that what you were looking for?

I think 3G watchdog is pretty accurate. Maxis has the tendency to screw up your data usage.
In my case, the first 3 days they say I used 235MB and they prorate my bandwidth limits to 3 days. Meaning 500MB limits prorate to 3 days is 16MB a day only. Imagine how much is that. 235MB over 16MB. The bill was over 1k. Thing is I never used 3G that much! Crazy Maxis.

And NO, you can ask for your bandwidth count. I called and immediately they gave me my details.

Thanks for your info.. hmm.. maybe i was talking too nice to them, i've to talk harder next time.

Testing my first use of Mobile AP (JG4 fw), connecting from iPad.

Data usage was quite high on iPad. A few MB in just minutes, despite not downloading anything extensively. Anyway, the performance was quite good. Maybe because the phone was just beside me. It was fun, only if I'm not restricted to 500MB.

It definitely is killing your battery, I think the lack of infrastructure is to be blamed. smile.gif There's still hope though, once more developers get on board Google's C2DM.

Not quite. The fact that there's a Samsung Email program in itself bugs me. Would have been better if they just used the standard Email app. I'm being picky I know. wink.gif

GPS problem is outstanding.

Difference with Wildfire? Man.. quite a bit. The price point should already tell you that both devices belong in different classes.

Froyo? Yes. But not all regions.

Do some research, you can easily find your answers on Google.

For some reason, i find connecting via Tethering is faster than Mobile AP, not really sure why. The reason i overshot my 1.5Gb limit was cos of Tethering.

Wah you damn good ah can understand his question, i was looking through my SGS and mine shows 4156mV at 97% (Unplugged like an hour and half ago) but what Meng Suan mentioned about the battery is spot on.

I study EE engineering for degree. Moreover my good friend's final year project is to monitor Li-on hence I've read up on its voltage and current properties including n-curve yada yada...

I don't feel that it hogs because I close the app after I finish chatting. Only whatsapp is for 24/7 messaging. biggrin.gif

Are there alternative to Root Explorer? I don't like their icon. tongue.gif

Not very long ago I mentioned about Aptoide as Installous equivalent for Android but it was not user friendly and it lags.

Then I tried Apktor and Appack. Appack was terrible but Apktor was the star of all these similar app.
