Hey guys, I know SGS is known for their flail GPS software, but do you guys realise it gets so much worse on 3G network? When on Wifi and GPS turned on, it took less than 40 seconds to lock in. With 3G network, it took 252 seconds on average to lock in.

How can you used wifi to assist on GPS if you are in your car or our outside wifi area? I think it is nothing to do with either wifi or 3G unless you are using Google map.

I mean when it's locking in. When I am in wifi area, it locks my position faster. When I am outside and starting up Papago, it takes longer to lock in. Hmm, I don't know if they even co relate or not but it seems that way to me. tongue.gif

when you are using wireless assist. 3G is not that fast on downloading the data, so slower, wifi can download data fast so can locate the tower position fast.

just guessing

swap is something like our Windows page file, or virtual memory. In the other word, swap = linux, page file = windows. It stores unused files to hard disk drive temporary when your RAM is full, so it can clear out some space for active programs.
