QUOTE(- JaY - @ Nov 6 2010, 04:26 PM) guys, a quick question, all my contacts are Google contacts, so if i remove from my phone, means that its gone from Gmail as well right? vice-versa? same thing? Yes correctAdded on November 7, 2010, 12:33 am QUOTE(frankgan @ Nov 6 2010, 03:46 PM) I assume that I'll just need to flash the kernel as the pda in Odin, without partition and any other things right? I've tried the recovery method but my cwm freezes when installing kernel. The safest way is to unzip the file and flash the tar file via OdinI somehow saw it in Doc's site, it says to upgrade the kernel in recovery? whats that? QUOTE(frankgan @ Nov 6 2010, 04:35 PM) **snip yes, i never use hardcore kernel. after flashing doc's rom (7.6 is the latest).. then i change the kernel.. imho, ya-ok (v23) and super optimized (v3.6) kernels are the best.. but i chose ya-ok.. make sure u use setcpu and set to conservative and your sgs flieesssss... without wing Added on November 7, 2010, 12:43 am I see. Thanks for the info. I think the hardcore kernel is sucking too much battery. Would like to try some other kernel and see how it goes. Last question, do we need to disable all lagfix before flashing to another kernel? my 2 cent *edit: you can disable lagfix using the ULK option in the CWM. you can see 'disable lagfix' feature there This post has been edited by pcboy: Nov 7 2010, 12:51 AM |

QUOTE(thornduck @ Nov 8 2010, 12:58 AM) After using the Galaxy S for little under a week now, I'm thinking of flashing to DocKalpik's. Just want to get a few things straight before I attempt it this evening. 1. Good1. I've confirmed that 3BR is working on my unit. 2. Before flashing, I should backup IMEI and this requires root. So the process is root, backup IMEI, factory reset followed by flash? 3. Also, does DocKalpik already come bundled with a lag fix or do I have to instal one on top of it? Thanks in advance. 2. a. backup /efs folder b. download Clockworkmod Recovery. Rename it to update.zip and put in sdcard c. download either JPA or JPO v7.6.2.zip ... put in sdcard d. go to recovery mode and flash those files 3. yes, it comes with universal lagfix. So you don't have to install seperate lagfix. after finish flashing the rom, go to recovery mode and you can see the 'ULK' feature |

QUOTE(emino @ Nov 9 2010, 12:00 PM) Guys, need help. I believe it's the APN problem. But if you've keyed in the correct settings, I leave to other members to throw their ideasI've reset my phone to factory setting (default ROM) and now my phone wont connect me to 3G/EDGE. I've already set the APN, enabled it, but the phone still wont connect to 3G/EDGE. I had even try to put on fligt mode on, then turn it off, still wont connect. Grr... |
