Btw, there is one guy saying he get 5% from C4 Tropicana. Mm...

OCBC CS called and explained that indeed Carrefour Tropicana only 1% rebates. The CS went through all my transactions and how to arrive at my 5% rebates. But then I arrived at my 5% rebates using the actual total amount spent, and not individually rounded up as mentioned by some forummers.

Hello .... the question is that are you looking for a cc provider who give you lousy service but all freebies or likewise? Seems you are looking for everything to be free from all the questions you posted.

e.g. CIMB got many attractive offers and merchant discounts / OCBC you get rebates which are far worth more than the GST paid. Too bad you are probably won't consider them coz they don't pay for you the GST.

GST somebody has to pay ... please get that right. It is not waiverable in the first place.

13. Airport Lounge Access
Alliance Plat - access to KLIA no limit.
Citibank Premier Miles - worldwide airport lounge twice a year (saw thier website need to apply before hand). Access to Plaza Premier lounge at KLIA 12 times a year PLUS the Priority Pass with 2 free admissions worldwide (subsequent need to pay). PP is for principal ONLY
Citibank Plat - access to KLIA no limit (*may actually have a limit of 12 times a year).
SCB VI - gives Priority Pass membership with unlimited free admissions for principal ONLY.
HSBC Premier - don't even have access to KLIA lounge
EON Bank Visa Signature - free priority pass membership for limited free lounge visits worldwide

Remark: Most of the Platinum cards issued in Malaysia can only grant free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge only, not the lounges in LCCT and JB.
SCB VI through Priority Pass and Amex Platinum charge card at most of the lounges worldwide.
*
Good job, alex. Although CIMB/DA WMC and VI are premium cards, their cardholders are not granted with free access to airport lounges.

SCB on the other hand, offers UNLIMITED entries to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge for their principal Platinum MC or Visa, WMC and VI cardholders.

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 14 2010, 09:35 AM)
I have spoken to the Premier Lounge rep @ LCCT and they have this problem where customers get upset with their bank when they see the charge later. Often they demand the Premier Lounge rep to check their membership status (payable or not) which they are unable to do.
*
That's ridiculous. If they didn't swipe their cards and didn't sign the slip, how could their cards be charged?

I always make sure that my cc can be granted free entry then only I enter the lounge.

I am very surprised to learn that your spending at Carrefour Tropicana City was only entitled to 1% cash back. You should make a complaint to OCBC. They might have calculated the rebate wrongly.

Just I thought you should have knew it after using the card for a year, there is also such information appears on the statement.
To be exact, even if you didn’t spend up to 5k, the bank will still rebate to you 1% of total spending. Just the maximum is RM50 rebate capped per year.

Allow me to clarify, this refers to Priority Pass holders which are given complimentary by the bank as part of the cc package. Likely they are unaware that they have been given membership only and/or limited entry. (e.g Citibank Signature) When you swipe the Priority Pass card, you can't tell whether you'll be charged or not until much later. The entry charge just appears on your credit card should you use it once your free entry runs out.

Entry using cc are tracked and they will tell you whether the quota is already over or not.

Carefour has nothing to do with Aeon. Carefour is a hypermarket chain, while Jusco is just a supermarket and departmental store and was never considered as a hypermarket.

The cardholders of Citibank and EON Bank VS should be aware of the numbers of free entry to airport lounges. They cannot really blame the lounges for charging them. Only SCB VI gives unlimited free access to airport lounges through Priority Pass.
