QUOTE(andrekua @ Oct 19 2010, 07:50 PM) I really hate OCBC now.. DAMN IT. I just activate my card last Thursday and only had 3 transaction since (1 on the activation day and two today) and they blocked my card saying based on my spending pattern. The funny thing is the CS is looking at the screen and tell me it trigger their alarm. She went on to explain that it was this Tesco purchase that trigger it and ask me what was my last transaction to which I replied Tesco and she even went on and ask me which date... and I SHOUT TODAY!!!.... Fuh winrar.(*&!@&!&*@(*!@(!* And its for penny transaction... when will they learn? On another note, SCB sent me a letter to upgrade my CL... 54k now for a 3k monthly salary... go go go... I wanna see when Credit Card bubble will bust... |

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Oct 19 2010, 10:41 PM) No. Please refer to the back of your credit card statement or the credit card fees page of your bank's website for the correct calculation. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 19 2010, 10:45 PM) Thanks for the idea. I'll check from there |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Oct 19 2010, 07:05 PM) HSBC account that needs millions to open is HSBC Private Banking account with HSBC Private Bank. Nearest country that offers such service is Singapore. HSBC Malaysia doesn't offer private banking service here. You need at least US$3 Million just to qualify and you will need a referral to get into HSBC Private Bank. No open application allowed. Most existing HSBC Group customers will get invited into HSBC Private Bank when their total cash deposit with HSBC Group reach US$10 Million. This is not the case. Someone I know picked up the phone and called HSBC Private Bank in Singapore enquiring to open an account without having existing accounts with HSBC prior to that. HSBC Private Bank promptly sent one of their "vice presidents" (which is a fancy term for a relationship manager or personal banker) to KL to meet him and within three days the account's opened. USD 1 m required. |

The one referring you to HSBC Private Bank could be an existing HSBC Private Bank customer or your Premier relationship manager. Citi Private Bank on the other hand, requires a minimum liquid asset of US$10 Million. |

Totally no referral. Just like I stated earlier, almost "walk in". He just called them and they were so keen for the business that they flew one VP to KL to explain and assist in the account opening. This was in September 2010. Citi Private Bank on the other hand, requires a minimum liquid asset of US$10 Million. HSBC Private Bank used to have an office in Menara Milenium Damansara Heights but closed down due to Bank Negara's restrictions on their product offerings. Citi Private Bank still has a small office in Menara Citibank Jalan Ampang. Not sure about the required amount to have an account there though. |

That was closed years ago. Heard it is also because rich Malaysians prefer to stash their cash outside of Malaysia so that make the private banking firm in Malaysia unprofitable. |

Found that OCBC's iQ Basic gives 5 free IBG a month.
Just need to maintain >RM500 monthly to avoid the service fee. This is much better than Ambank Extreme (which also offer 5 free IBG a month) |

QUOTE(ronnie @ Oct 19 2010, 11:34 PM) Found that OCBC's iQ Basic gives 5 free IBG a month. Okay ! Thanks for the information. So the list now should be :Just need to maintain >RM500 monthly to avoid the service fee. This is much better than Ambank Extreme (which also offer 5 free IBG a month) - HSBC Premier > unlimited - HSBC Advance > unlimited - OCBC iQ Elite > unlimited - OCBC iQ Basic > 5/month - AmStar Extreme > 5/month By the way, AmStar Extreme also gives you 1.5% on all balances provided you keep at least RM5,000 in your account at all time. You also get 5 free non-AMBank ATM cash withdrawals. |

QUOTE(MNet @ Oct 20 2010, 12:16 AM) Apply CC need see epf statement? Not necessarily. My mom doesn't have EPF statement. She applied for CIMB Gold MasterCard (her first), Maybankard Gold AMEX credit card, AMEX Green Charge Card, HSBC Amanah VISA Gold and Hong Leong Bank Gold MasterCard/VISA Gold.
