DirectAccess cards are recommended for fresh grads. If I recall correctly, my first DA card CL was already 12k. However, despite higher-than-average CL, I didn't need that much credit though.
Credit Card v12, Credit card GST remains....

Wow RM 10k limit from MBB with monthly salary of RM 2.5k. I remembered MBB didn't give me that when I got my first CC from MBB with that level of salary 3 to 4 years ago.

QUOTE(Gh-x @ Oct 16 2010, 11:20 AM) so you have any idea what Maybank does? cause my CC is from Maybank. i think their policy in granting cl is not how much you declare lo declare then give only la.. if like that a 2k fellow declare 10k/month then impossible the bank also give 30k cl ma just because he is clean.. a big no lo... they normally have min cl for a card and if higher then will base on the old card one loi have read somewhere that CC limit is times 2x your income right? but what odd is i have declare my income 8k per month yet they put my limit 5k? |

How does one decide if he/she needs another credit card or not?
I have a SCB JustOne. Going to cancel my HSBC Gold. The OCBC titanium looks good. I don't know if I'll benefit from the card or not considering I already have SCB JustOne. |

I have a feeling my friend's case comes with very strong recommendation from the branch manager. her portfolio with maybank nothing much but her family banks with maybank big time. so maybe the branch manager makes the recommendation based on the fact of her background etc. by the way, the gave her three cards - mastercard gold, american express gold credit card these both combined CL 10k and american express green charge card.you're right maybank is known to be stingy when it comes to CL. QUOTE(alexwsk @ Oct 16 2010, 08:57 PM) I am not aware that SCB offers such a higher CL ratio. Mine is 3.5x my monthly salary, while my OCBC Titanium's CL is 2.5x. My SCB's CL was used to be my highest CL before I obtained DA VI.QUOTE(simplesmile @ Oct 16 2010, 11:35 PM) How does one decide if he/she needs another credit card or not? Although SCB JustOne Titanium is a great card, the cash back per annum is capped at RM600. It would be better to get another card such as OCBC Titanium as a back up, in the event that the cashiers fail to swipe your SCB JustOne Titanium. We had experienced some problems when teaching the cashiers to select "credit" function to perform a transaction. I have a SCB JustOne. Going to cancel my HSBC Gold. The OCBC titanium looks good. I don't know if I'll benefit from the card or not considering I already have SCB JustOne. As for my case, my SCB JustOne Titanium had already hit the annual cash back limit last month. Therefore, I need other cards like OCBC Titanium (mainly for dining, grocery, utilities and petrol expenses) and SCB World MC (x2 choice points and discounted points requirement for redemption) to perform my transactions. |

Maybe I don't need OCBC Titanium after all. Don't need to incur another RM50 service tax. There's a possibility that the OCBC Titanium may suffer like JustOne ... read overwhelming response and then no longer open for application. So ... while it is open for application do consider it. That's why a lot of the folks here apply for this card ... including myself though I took longer to decide than usual. |
