Hi,
I got a some question about Credit Card.
Let say if i want to buy a laptop using flexi payment installment plan, do i need to make sure my account balance to be enough for the purchase? will it be the Current account or Personal Account?

you just need to make sure your available credit limit is enough for the full laptop purchase price
credit card is not tie to your current or savings account

Thanks for the info, when does the balance reset? early of every month?

available balance should be calculated daily, it's
your total credit limit - all your outstanding balance (posted and non posted transactions)

Certain banks will only release the total hold amount until you have fully paid up the installment.

I am quite noob about these stuff. It's really confusing.....
for example my card limit is 5k. This amount is monthly limit right?

Not a monthly limit... BUT as long as you pay up in full then the answer becomes yes.

So basically you are saying if i took a installment plan for good purchase which cost RM5k for 12 month, until i finish these installment i will not be able to buy anything else right?

Some banks will slowly release the monthly payment back as credit limit, some banks will hold the amount until you fully settle it.

so you have any idea what Maybank does? cause my CC is from Maybank.
i have read somewhere that CC limit is times 2x your income right? but what odd is i have declare my income 8k per month yet they put my limit 5k?

i think their policy in granting cl is not how much you declare lo declare then give only la.. if like that a 2k fellow declare 10k/month then impossible the bank also give 30k cl ma just because he is clean.. a big no lo... they normally have min cl for a card and if higher then will base on the old card one lo
*
not just declare. I have submitted the documents that is require for Tax. forgot what it's called already. So based on that documents my average monthly income is 8k.

but you earn 8k per month but limit only 5k? that is lower than your income wei.. got so weird one mehh.. your income can apply for plat card le but your limit is like classic card wo..

That is the problem, i am not sure why the give the 5k limit. Even my Company current account is with them so they know about everything.

Could it be caused by heavy credit burden in your CCRIS profile?
How much car loan/home loan are you taking?

currently i am taking a shop loan around 400k. Could this be the reason?
