If the interviewer ask,
1. why should this company hire you?
2. how can you contribute to the company?

What is the proper way to answer these questions?

I don't know why there is still companies who ask that question. haha those are standard questions where you can find in a book. If they dont need you, they dont need to interview you. If they dont hire you how can they know you can contribute. i once asked the interviewer how should i answer you this kind of question. lol. you have to see my performance for the answer. Did not get an offer from that company, but thank got i did not get. LOL

Some good answers would be:

"I'm an independent person who can work with minimum supervision."

Companies nowadays appreciate this trait alot. That you can find ways to carry out a task by yourself without depending heavily on your superiors/colleagues. Managers & bosses are very busy most of the time and they need someone who is independent enough not to take too much of their time to teach & guide you. They just need to give some pointers and you can work out yourself how to do it.

"I always find ways to improve efficiency in my work, in terms of cutting down time spent without sacrificing quality. I think of creative ways to speed up my work."

Companies values staffs who can "do more with less". If you can quote an example which you improved efficiency (e.g. reduced manual work and automated some process in your ex-company), it's a good advantage. Not alot of people mention this during interviews/have this experience. If you've no examples, at least you should say you are aware of process improvements and pointed out inefficient processes to your ex-superior in order to improve the productivity of the company.

Some of the most common replies which are not that attractive to interviewers are:

Fast learner, friendly, nice person, kind, like to make friends, work well with others etc...

Also, if you cannot elaborate on your skills & experiences, although you have it, you'll still likely to fail the interview because the interviewer have not much idea what you do & what your strengths & experiences are. Knowing how to tell your experiences to your potential employer is a skill that can be learned & practice.

just got a phone call from this company. i did applied for the position at jobstreet but withdrawn the application few days ago because i feel i'm not that interested with that field. today, the sales director called me up for interview tomorrow. the weird thing is the interview is for the same post that i withdrawn from jobstreet but at another of their company (a hotel). i have such a limited time to prepare since i still need to work tomorrow (practical training). i hope i won't look tired during the interview.

When stepping into a Bank, they will like to ask something like this

1) How is the Financial Market like now?
2) What happening on Financial Market on present?

What do interviewer expect from candidate during these question, Capability to speak or a test on your knowledge?

As it was a wide scope of question, how should a candidate tackle the question?

OI devin ! its been a while la.. where have u been?

anyway to answer your questions.

Interviewers expect you to have a general understanding of what the market situation is like. You can further enhance your understanding with recent news (Eg: BP oil spill). Its even better if you have an opinion of your own on how to solve these problems (the opinion you are about to provide has to be valid. It can even be one of the options that is currently under consideration by political parties or whatever).

Interviewers expect BOTH capability to speak and also sound knowledge. Working in Banks is highly demanding and they only take in the best of the best (unless you are applying for call center or jobs that are not really related to the core banking operations).

what should i answer if the the interviewer asked:
1) why are you applying for this position (animal helper at a shelter) when you have a degree in marketing?
my reason:
- i loves dog
- interested to help and save the animals (taking care of them)
- i want to do something i have always wanted to do after fulfilling my parents wish of getting a degree.
2) why do you think that you're suitable for the job?

i know answer like this do not sound convincing at all. how can i make it to be more convincing?

Yar, I agree with TommyTan, I don't see anything wrong with saying you want to work in a kennel because you love dogs and co.
I don't really see any nice reason you could use anyway.

hello there,

i have a question if any of u can help me i will really appreciate it.

i hav resigned from my co as my contract is not renewed. the question is if i was asked 'y did u leave the co?' should i be honest telling them that my contract is not renewed ( i fear that by telling this it will give bad impression to the interviewer) or should i make up stories such as my career goals are not align with the co?

i am quite confused when the interviewer ask

"Give us a example of your creativity?"

so i give them example of improvement that i have done in my company.

But they replied that that was your job scope?

i was like WTF? of course it was my job. What do they want really?

How would you answer it base on your actual experience?
