what i'm really confuse now.
i'm taking a vip 20 unifi.
the hyppTV's VOD.
now already a new month, got another 100points.

so are the points system pricing already starts ?
or it is still free 100 points for me to use ya ?
*
Every month, home unifi subscribers get 100 points. Any balance at the end of the month does not get carried forward. If you use more than 100 points and need more, you can buy more points. Not sure how you actually buy more points because we have never used beyond the 100 monthly points ATM

nope...this 100 points is just until end of this month only.. tm has extended the promotion on hypp.tv until end of this month. by 1st november, those not VIP20 have to pay to subscribe for premium channel.

and the 5 points consider 1 channel. not sure about the rate yet but confirm is that by 1st november for those not VIP20 , have to pay to subscribe for premium channel and new channel.

My office is on a BIZ20 + 5 Fixed IPs. It's just like any other fixed IP package, you can point as many DNS domains to your IP as you like. DNS is pretty much independent of your ISP.

I believe they also have 1 new domain registration under the package as well, we didn't need it (already have our domains) but seems they can't proceed without it, and insisted we pick a name. I was tempted to ask them to register "UnifiSucks.com", but then thought the better of it. 8-)

Do different Unifi IP's give different routing? (regardless of the package) I've also noticed that speeds to the same IP's / servers are different at various times.

Hi,

I'm currently renovating my double storey terrace house. The electrician is currently working on the electical wiring in the house. I'm planning to subscribe to Unifi VIP5 package.

Is it true that TM requires its appointed contractor to do the internal wiring? I would like to to conceal the internal wiring in the house they install Unifi at my house. From what I've read so far, TM contractor does not provide conceal wiring during Unifi installation.

Anyone who is has done conceal wiring for Unifi before? How this can be done (and with TM) when the house is under renovation?

Thanks.

dude

if u r renovating now better pull a fiber line to your phone junction box(if no addition service cost). In addition, if want lay some network cables from first to second floor will be good. Similar like your electrical wirings and water piping, now data cabling is almost a necessity. do it now spare headache later. No it;s not true for TM to appointed contractor to do internal wiring. External wiring yes, but not internal. When TM comes, they'll just help install the termination point. get the cable in first. good luck.

Go source for the fiber cable from electrician or friend or yellow pages. Vote of a location in ur new home where you'll likely gonna place all the tm equipments usually near your TV or Home entertaiment console. good luck.

J
p/s: better verify the TM fiber box is behind or in front of your house, may give you a better idea. Perhaps contact the local TM point guys, internal wiring normally done by tm themselves, if not mistaken.

Actually a better way is to make an internal conceal pipe first. Unifi fiber line can to go through when TM contractor come. It shouldnt be hard to make that kind of setup. Pull the fiber all the way to phone box, then use Ethenet cable for the rest of the house connection. I actually prefer ethenet cable than fiber as they are generally more resilient

Hi Oreomambo,

Follow your guides, I managed to setup the RB750 & RB750G with both internet & IPTV working, thank you bro !!  notworthy.gif

Luckily MikroTik has the WinBox GUI, lots of features & information, otherwise I don't think I'm capable to configure it at command lines ...  sweat.gif

The setup is rather straight forward, just few setup screen out of the box:

Interface – create vlan 500 & 600
[attachmentid=1810001]

Interface – set LAN5 neither master nor slave [to use for IPTV STB direct connection]
[attachmentid=1810003]

Bridge – create a bridge for IPTV
[attachmentid=1810006]

Bridge – Ports for IPTV bridge
[attachmentid=1810008]

PPP – Create PPPoE client for UniFi
[attachmentid=1810011]

Firewall – setup NAT
[attachmentid=1810015]

IP – DHCP server
[attachmentid=1810017]

That's all, internet & IPTV up & running!  rclxms.gif

Now have to figure out how to tighten the firewall ... sweat.gif

klseet,

Just saw this (been away) You are welcomed. Thanks for putting up the instructions which will help out the rest with RB750/RB750G. The setup is indeed straightforward, but i've spent quite sometime figuring out the IPTV at first because i had a faulty Dlink and without a sample to sniff the dlink packet for IPTV on how it behaves. Once i had that replaced, only know that IPTV packet doesn't go through PPPoE at all.
That is why some people may be having problem with internet connection, but still watching IPTV without problem.
Anyway, good luck with firewall
