yes, turning on physx will reduce ur fps, but u'll get better gaming experience than letting the physX bear by ur cpu.

Price seems a bit high.. a standard B1 with bluray drive should not cost you more than USD 1900 with delivery via comgateway. I wouldn't go for ram hertz upgrade. Not worth it i think, and many units come with 1333Hz even though it is listed as 1066 in the order.
Standard Manufacturer Dead Pixel Warranty is free from GentechPC. Not sure what the no dead pixel warranty covers in addition to that. You should check with reseller.
What else are you customizing?
Xoticpc has good reputation too. Many of us bought from GentechPC and have received excellent service (contact ken@gentechpc.com)

ya since the pricing everyone been getting is below usd 2000. i have upgraded the following 1066 -> 1333 , no dead pixel policy. (for 1 year) and keyboard colour change LOL since it look cool cool2.gif thats all... after considering the ram upgrade maybe i will just skip it.. the worst part would be delivery, due to i have chosen UPS global, wish not to take any risk with the laptop arrival, now iam just wondering whether they change the led for the keyboard color .. or just add a layer of coloring paper.. LOL

actually my laptop also got problem. haiz. I lag while playing SC2.. I read some of forums, G73JH's user does not have the problem that I am experiencing in SC2..most of them play in ultra mode with a charming smooth..

I'm running everything on ultra except for the shaders. With shaders on ultra my unit lags too. The only setting that slows the unit down is the shaders wink.gif

You bought from GentechPC right? Why not ask Ken what options you have on this? Maybe RMA locally?

Hi people,

Would like to seek your advice on Asus G73 JH.

I'll be purchasing my ASUS G73JH-RBBX05 from HIDevolution very soon.

Link shown as below:-
http://www.hidevolution.com/featured-produ...b-17-3-dvd.html

Would like your advice on the Thermal Paste services provided by them.

I'm thinking of adding IC-Diamond Thermal paste on the CPU & GPU that would cost me 35 USD each Thermal paste applied by them (HIDevolution). A total cost of extra 70 USD.

That would be "70.00 USD = 216.510 MYR"

Kindly advice me if I should Pay an additional RM216 for the Thermal paste to reduce heat and extend the life of the Asus G73 JH is it worth it or not?

Looking forward to hear from everyone Input before I purchase it soon

Cheers.

If i were you, i'll take it even though it cost a lot, as the stock thermal paste is horrible in some cases.

Unless you are willing to change it yourself.

Asus Malaysia is at Wisma SPS next to Imbi Plaza. Give me a tinker and I will guide you there. I just sent my unit in today to replace my LCD for dead pixel wink.gif
