GSOD is random. Some users are affected by it and some are not. It really depends on the QC of the notebook when it leaves the factory.

That would depends on ur own preference, G53jw and G73jw shares same gpu.

The G73 is not really that mobile unless you are used to carrying around 7~10 KG in a backpack  For the G73JH there is a 50-50% chance for heat problems but Gary from Asus Technical Division has assured us that the problem has been resolved at the factory and newer units shouldn't have this problem. The G73JW is very new and there are no reports yet about heating issues but I suspect Asus has learn from the problems that plagued the G73JH. Heat problem can be resolved easily by re-pasting 

Definitely GentechPC. I wouldn't touch Mucro Asia with a 1000ft pole. Check the previous thread, there are users who faced problem with their service. I'm not sure if anyone successfully purchased a unit from them but they gave terrible service to a few members in the original thread.

If you are going to get from GentechPC, make sure you get Ken Lee as your sales person. He has handled a lot of cases from Malaysia especially the members in this thread. Mention the TS name (Jeffrey) or mine (Mark) and he will know what to do. He should be able to ship orders to Malaysia now in his sleep, LMAO!

Well, u can tell it from GTX 260m. It stood in the market for its outstanding performance. Assuming GTX 460m will do the same thing. But still i can't find any G73jw benchmark nor review yet.

If u want less weigth smaller FHD screen go for G53.

PS: I'm expecting G53 to weight less than G73.

maybe, the copper oz in g73 will be much more compared to g53.

The adapter should be about the same.

It's all depends on your preference whether you are leaned to size factor or not? 15" is easier for you to move around. Less weight for sure.  It's your call though.

If you asked me which resellers I'm going to get my gaming notebook, I will certainly will order it from GenTechPC. Greatest CS I have ever received.  Just try to mention my name and Mark (Viperion) as Viperion had mentioned at previous post. He'll assist you as best as he can.

You can get Ken to check the unit for you before shipping. Just mention what are your concerns and he will try his best to get the techies in the warehouse to inspect your unit before shipment. It's heavy around 5~7KG, I haven't actually weight my fully loaded backpack but it feels like nearly 10 KG with my accessories listed below minus the printer of course

I might be exaggerating the a weight a little but it feel like that The notebook itself it about 4~5 KG, the power brick should be nearly 1 KG. It really depends on what you want to carry but with my full list it should be close to 8~10 KG. The techies at Gentech will most likely flash your unit with the new vBios and you shouldn't be face any GSOD problems. Just mention to him you don't want any issues with GSOD and check with him to run a burn in test

There seems to be a clear winner for G73 debuts between HD5870m and GTX 460m. I just check some eurocom benchmark with HD5870m and GTX 480m performance. GTX480m is performing slightly ahead of HD5870m.

Which could actually discuss GTX 460m will be weaker or slightly weak than HD5870m.

Games which are optimized for Nvidia with PhysX will be an advantage. But without PhysX, it could perform almost the same as HD5870m or +/- frames.

The problem actually lies within the nvidia Fermi. GTX 470m and 480m are consuming more watts compared to GTX 460m. Even there are ppl asking in alienware thread about upgrading it, new monster power adapter will be needed for it. Even Eurocom has the GTX 480m laptop comes with 220 watt powerbrick to keep the hot and power consuming GTX 480m. And Eurocom has to place 2 copper cooler to cool off the GTX 480m instead of 1 cooper slot.

I can't be too sure... but their initial report about G53 is equipped with GTS 360m instead of GTX 460m.

wanna ask if i do a lot of 3d and renderings, so is the 460m or the ati hd5870 better for it.. am thinking of getting 1 ASUS G53JW-A1 from gentech, how's the shipment gonna take? and i can't use any other cc outside US/canada? and what is the best and cheapest possible way to get it shipped to brunei?

Would like your advice on the Thermal Paste services provided by them.

I'm thinking of adding IC-Diamond Thermal paste on the CPU & GPU that would cost me 35 USD each Thermal paste applied by them (HIDevolution). A total cost of extra 70 USD.

That would be "70.00 USD = 216.510 MYR"

Kindly advice me if I should Pay an additional RM216 for the Thermal paste to reduce heat and extend the life of the Asus G73 JH is it worth it or not?

damn, looks like the G53jw was delayed to 18 Oct and that is just an estimate. Im seriously considering the sager np8690 or waiting for next year when sandybridge and HD6000m series comes out.
