Guys, need some help here on G73JW.
Bought an external USB 3.0 hdd casing 2.5" 500GB 7200rpm
Plugged into g73 usb3.0 port, the drive doesn't appear.
Got another brand usb3.0 hdd casing, after plug in, able to detect the drive. When copying files, it lasts for about 5-10seconds, then it will get disconnected and reconnect.

Any of you guys have such problems? My previous envy17 was having exactly same problem sad.gif
P.S - BIOS have set to xHCI for Usb 3.0 as well

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I need HELP!!! I've been thinking about buying the G53JW for awhile now and I still haven't been able to find the best way. I'm living in Maldives and since I haven't ordered any thing online and all. Could any of you tell me how safe it is to order from a US reseller like powernotebooks, xoticpc or gentechpc? I mean if wire transfer of money is safe and all or not?

I see. Thanx. If I opt for mucro.asia.singapore. will it be faster than ordering from US. I have got a friend in singapore so you know they could ship it to him and I could avoid it having take longer right?

Added on January 20, 2011, 10:33 pmUmm Hei guys. I tried to place and order through mucro asia singapore and somehow the shipping method there seems to be really confusing me. I mean I selected the DHL which states international shipping method and it prompts me to select another shipping method which states is only applicable to SSD and GPU only?:S... So when I selected it, it seems to move on to the next step even though the shpping method states otherwisse? :S... Right now i'm actually checkin to see if I canplace order to Maldives. I am really confused :S

Added on January 24, 2011, 2:32 pmI contacted mucro.asia.singapore and my doubts got answered quickly but the problem is that they are out of stock for G53JW now and they plan to bring in a low stock for the pre-orders cox they are gonna start to bring the Sandy Bridge model as soon as they can.
So I think I'll wait for the new model. biggrin.gif

There are 2 options. One is buy it from local resellers or you can import it from other countries. For instance, US resellers such like GenTechPC, XoticPC and etc.

Most of us here bought ours one from US as they offered a really good CS and the price was far more cheap than buying it from local resellers. biggrin.gif

You can e-mail: ken@gentechpc.com and ask him the procedures. He will guide you from there.

* Try to mention my name - Jeffrey ad he will know it. smile.gif All the best! I hope I can see you soon at this thread.

hi jeffrey,

thx for the email... will contact him soon... and also will mention ur name...

juz wanna ask:

1. how does US resellers give me CS? ie: if my laptop got problem and still under warranty, how do i contact their CS? are their CS from US or local? or its the salesmen themselves are the CS?

2. do i get international warranty? if under warranty can i send my laptop to the asus centre in imbi plaza, kl?

3. does GenTechPC and XoticPC have a shop?
