QUOTE(viruz019 @ Aug 27 2010, 04:19 PM) i mean..i ordered the A2 version..n itz sold out..and the B1 is a little out of what i originally planned..so i just get the GX660R Well, u could stick to GX660R. I heard from the NBR, it doesn't have GSOD issue. QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Aug 27 2010, 08:19 PM) They should be releasing B2 or else i'll wait for the Sep 3rd annoucement from Asus on G53/73jw. |

QUOTE(Viperion @ Aug 28 2010, 12:12 AM) New Catalyst driver is out. According to the Asus Tech Manager in the NBR forums, this update should fix the GSOD issue. I've just updated and will run some test. I will report here tomorrow after I try some GPU intensive games. For those who are adventurous, you can try the beta vBios from Asus from the link below: Well, as far as i read from NBR... it fixes GSOD issue HOWEVER u can't run the donut furmark test under ATi Catalyst 10.8.Beta vBIOS update from ASUS **WARNING** Not for non technical people and this update will brick your GPU or laptop. If you are not sure what to do then do not attempt this at all. For those who have done vBIOS updates before please try it and report the results here. Thank You. QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Aug 28 2010, 12:13 AM) Asus will make an official announcement of Asus G53/G73Jw on 3rd Sept? That would be next week. As usual lurk around NBR. Where did you get this news anyway? |

Most of the new G73 fanboy are jumping to Msi Gx660R for its value performance and no GSOD issue.

Seems like Gary posted a fix for the keyboard light after those updated to bios 211 with no lighting keyboard.
Still, i'm waiting for Asus to fix the GSOD issue. |

I might be taking some of the NBR advise on waiting HD6 series GPU.
Maybe G74? or refreshed G73. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Aug 29 2010, 10:34 PM) Mobile HD6 series will be getting 256-bit bus instead of 128-bit limitation and of course Eyefinity. In other words, more memory bandwidth and performance. Perhaps 2 teraflops on a laptop already with Intel Sandy Bridge. So far there's only HP Envy 17" that has HD5850m with eyefinity unlocked. There rest like alienware, clevo, sager does not have Eyefinity. For me, eyefinity is important for my multitasking of coz the GPU performance. That depends if Asus could fix GSOD or i'll skip to HD6 series for Asus ROG G73 refresh/G74. |
