@Zapads: i think it's HDD loading, try high settings, i'm playing at 60fps silky smooth, or another solution is you might wanna get a SSD, oh and catalyst 10.8 improves SCII ALLOOOOTT, i estimate probably added 10fps.

QUOTE(Viperion @ Sep 7 2010, 06:34 PM) Yup, I'm off now to really test the new vBios. I will run SC2 and some graphic intensive games and report back here 10.8 really fixed the performance hit on AA, previously benchmarking SFIV my framerate will drop by 10-20fps if 4x AA, now my woes are history. but somehow the AA doesn't work on SC2 using catalyst settings.

QUOTE(Viperion @ Sep 8 2010, 01:41 PM) Actually it's not about breaking it or not. Seriously the stock vBios code is atrocious. The measly 2hours battery life is caused by the high clocks. With the new vBIos this issue is resolved. Running on stock Catalyst is never an option because newer games will never be able to run on it I think newer games shud be able to run on it but taking a big performance beating, i notice this big time on SC2, before the GSOD fix, i was taking my chances against GSOD rather than going back to using Catalyst 10.1

Just a short report of my friends G73JH purchase recently, he ordered a new RBBX05 model from HIDEVOLUTION, he chosen USPS express but they kind staff at HID upgraded it to FedEx without extra charges, laptop was ordered on Wed 13/10/10, and arrived on 18/10/10.
I've noticed some improvements on the laptop since my last order 3 months ago, Asus got the pasting process improved this time, his gc idles at 52c, mine which i ordered 3 months ago idles at 59. Other than that, my friends wan came with LG panel 1600x900 as opposed to my inferior AUO panel, and power adapter is branded as ASUS where else mine is some OEM.
Just some info for those that prefer a budget RBBX05 model, which is bought at 1.4k + 100USD shipping.

i was doing my research online, few sites suggest even Tuniq TX-2 performs better here's one of them http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-6863-vie...enchmarked.htmland here's another benchmark with Tuniq TX-3 http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?opti...1&limitstart=12And of course the benefit of using Tuniq is easier to apply and clean. Cheesenium your temps are as good as mine, i think you don't have to repaste - before mine got re-paste furmark just raised my temp above 100c mark, after repasting with Tuniq TX-3 here's my result. I'm using BIOS 211 which increases the fan speed during high temps. Attached thumbnail(s)
