wonder if for OCBC GST tax waiver by spending 10k a year, the waiver is deducted from 10k points or once 10k spent in a year, GST is waived and we still earn the rewards point?

QUOTE(jack2 @ Aug 26 2010, 05:25 PM) wonder if for OCBC GST tax waiver by spending 10k a year, the waiver is deducted from 10k points or once 10k spent in a year, GST is waived and we still earn the rewards point? It states clearly there that you just need to spend RM10k a year and they will cover the RM50 for you. Besides, there isn't reward point to earn as all OCBC Bank credit cards give only cash back. |

QUOTE(cruel_boy @ Aug 26 2010, 04:38 PM) how to calculate repayment for cash advance? Cash advance fee each time is 5% and interest is 18% p.a. compounded daily. Without knowing when you start the advance and when you repay in full, can't calculate the exact interest amount.say the bank charge 18%p.a. for cash advance, if i take 3000 out, how should i calculate the interests? is that excluding the 17.5% finance charges? |

QUOTE(PJusa @ Aug 26 2010, 07:58 PM) MilesAndMore, Actually Alliance Bank should be the secondary card once you reach the cap on the OCBC card. You only need to spend RM1k on 5% stuff on the OCBC to max the cap from Jan 2011 onwards and then move your spending to the Alliance Bank card.thanks for the info. searched high and low on the website and didnt find that information. 50 bucks and no bonuspoints is not worth it for me. might be usefull as secodary card if i used the 5k with alliance bank already though. |

QUOTE(chemistry @ Aug 26 2010, 10:36 PM) Are you really gonna apply for HLB card because of 5 years GST waiver? I just may do so because i really am not willing to sacrifice my own hard earned reward points to offset the credit card tax. Besides, if one is not exactly a high spender. This is exactly the card you should card. |

QUOTE(travelyew @ Aug 26 2010, 11:00 PM) Actually i also plan to apply hlb credit card. I don't really like HLB customer service. Long waiting time, lack of Chinese speaking officers etc...However, after i found the ocbc titanium card give better offer, so apply ocbc titanium loh........................... Today I rang OCBC card centre to inquire about Titanium card and requested an application form. The call was answered quickly and he can answer all my inquiries without keep me waiting. I had a pleasant experience. Besides, if one is not exactly a high spender. This is exactly the card you should card. Hmm...perhaps you need to do a comparison.Fix your monthly spending pattern, and calculate what you get at the end of the year. Scenario 1: TNB = 100 Telekom = 30 Streamyx = 90 Petrol = 120 Groceries = 100 TOTAL = 440 (1) HLB essential Full year rebate = 440*1%*12 = 52.80 (2) HLB Classic/Gold Reward point= 440*12 = 5280 pts (equivalent to approx. RM25) (2) OCBC Titanium TNB = 100*5% = 5.00 Telekom = 30*1% = 0.30 Streamyx = 90*1% = 0.90 Petrol = 120*5% = 6.00 Groceries = 100*5% = 5.00 Full year rebate = 17.2*12 = 206.40 Net rebate after deducting GST = 156.40 The difference is obvious. QUOTE(vin_ann @ Aug 24 2010, 01:50 PM) I'm also thinking to do the same way, unfortunately,in my test when it comes to payment stage,it would require you to enter billing information...The problem is,you need to fill up the billing address in "Country" option box, which only let you select either is Singapore or United State...so I guess it won't work if using MSIA CC...too bad. |
