Info on fuel consumption for my golf, just had 2nd refill..so technically only one time going thru full tank

- 1st refill at 329km ( SA provide half tank )

- 2nd refill at 892km - 48.84L - fuel consumption about 11.5km/l with 70/30% more on highway driving. Still in break-in period so even on highway I keep varying speed. Both using Petronas Ron 95, will try Shell V-power after few petronas refill.

- 3rd refill at 1500km 50.055L 12.15 km/l or 8.23l/100km

belum TEKAN lagi !! wait after 1K+ km, right now fastest speed I go only 160 +. on highway when trying to cruise at low speed feel very torture!! due to lack of noise the car seems slower, my old car at 80-100km/h already got wind+noise sound. One thing for sure speedometer is overreading compared 2 my Garmin.

Read in other reviews that this is pretty common when you trying to move from a standstill position. It's a distinct feature of the 7-speed DSG and understandly some would call it annoying (and dangerous!) especially in situations like yours. May be difficult to drive if you're travelling during rush hours especially in klang valley, when you need the car to respond instantaneously and yet there's a noticeable lag.

I got a friend who tested an Alfa on Hartamas-Bkt Kiara stretch, hit 190km/h and was stopped by police road block opposite KLGCC (regular spot).
He told the police he's test driving the car (+ pointing at the salesperson in Sime Darby Auto Italia uniform sitting behind). Amazingly the police let him off.
He said that the salesperson was shivering during the road block.

I've tested both the TSI and GTi and will probably get the GTi either this year ... or March for the 2011 cars. But what I read here.... ppl testing cars to 160-180kph. I was wondering if u guys can actually handle the speed or not. Driving at such speed on public road is not only endangering your own life, but also others on the road. You might say, "It will never happen to me", or "There's no one else on the road." But who can actually predict what will happen. When I test, I just try to keep it below 110. Maybe I'll just floor it to see how fast it makes the century mark. That's about it.
Regarding the TSI.... I still feel that the GTi delivers power more smoothly, and it has leather seats. But the TSI has cruise control, which I like.

Haha.... I'm kiasu n kiasi (takut mati) person mah... So, will drive to the limit of my reflexes. Hand-eye coordination is not like what it used to be. GTi can give me the power when I need it mah. There's this little lag when I press on the accelerator of the TSI. The package is good.. just don't like the fabric seats n the lack of power seat for the driver. The gear shift and steering wheel of the GTi is more sexy too.

superficial differences that cost over 50k. very nicely justified.

autoworld review mentions that Msia is the only market where VW's gti model outsells the more everyday model. guess we are pretty pricey on impressions over substances compared to the rest of the world.

haha... ur thoughts exactly like mine. i always wanted to get the VW Golf but can't bring myself to part with 200k for a C-Sec car. So with the coming of the TSI model at a much cheaper price.. it was a dream come true.. esp when u can always mod it to ard GTI's ori hp ..

imagine a market where honda manage to sell more fd2r than fd2, the management'd be laughing all the way during the year end analysis. and to make the whole deal sweeter, the customers are just going to drive them like regular cars. i dunno man, i really cannot understand.

I can't really believe my eyes.. the milege on the 1.4 TSI is out of this world. Just came back fr mlk attending a wedding .. look at the pic below.. theoretically it can travel 700km maintaining 120km/h. (cruise control). And this is after i already drove 1 day in the city from yesterday. That is the computer's calculation. But in actual fact, i tapau the car later on the way home 150-180km/h and still more than 50% fuel left .. i'm really amazed. u get the fun, the speed and the savings on petrol... amazing stuff...

wat an experience, when i started the journey the estimated mileage till need for refuel was at 330km.. then as i travel more the odo keep on increasing and the "need for refuel" also kept on increasing ... 330-340..... 400...530km + my odo 170km ... gives ard 700km... mana ada semakin drive .. semakin longer i can go ..haha... was laughing in amazement with my gf all thru the journey to mlk ...

full tank of gold tsi can reach how many KM?

for the mk5 they only officially sold the gti, the 1.6 model is only available through the importers, correct me if i'm wrong. and i think the price tag is around 160k, come on the 1.6 is way underpowered compared to the current 1.4TSI
and the gti is more livable compared to FD2R

i think because the computer calculate again according to your current average FC.

Speed dont kill, just drive safely... those farking people beam from 100-200m away but never bother to slow down or taking corner at >150kmh, what do you expect? F1 downforce?

All European car seem to have this lag... I hate it when wanna rush out of a junction. By the time it feel like moving, cars already arriving.
