how big is the OZ rims?
darn it. fake advertising  tongue.gif
all of them seems to be three digit

well my OZ was 17" also hypersilver to gunmetal. but be careful those rm300-rm400 type. They do it DIY at their own backyard. heard that nowadays they send back to factory to spray that's why more expensive and the color sticks on the rims better. Coz a fren of mine did the el cheapo type for rm450. 3mths later color faded (patches). lucky was under warranty for 3 mths.. he took back to the shop n *** them for repair.. lucky he managed to get it done..

Yan, you got the 17" Detroits from FA Wagen right? Or did you get them off a GTI owner who wanted to get rid of his stock rims?

A fella offered RM3k for his set of rims with 50% tyre wear which I think is a little too expensive IMHO.

Yeah that is why I am not planning on getting those. Saw another for sale on zerotohundred, RM2500 for about 70-80% tyre wear.

You wanted to tint your tail lights? Why not consider the R LED lights instead?

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting a Golf but I'm a little worried after reading all the negative remarks regarding its after sales service. Is it that bad? Or just a few isolated cases? I'm also undecided over the 1.4 and the 2.0. I like the 1.4 for its pricing and the availability of cruise control...... but the 2.0 has leather seats and power seats which I like. Furthermore, it has a little bit more power, of course. Hmmm... decisions. Wife keeps on saying, "Pay so much, go get a benz instead lah!"

yup your wife is correct, for that GTI price better go get a merc or bmw. But if you are the non common one that want to join the Nazi's legacy, try VW.

Ok how to choose between GTI and TSI? simple. if you are someone who loves to go fast and smoke other drivers get the GTI.
If you are someone that loves to take it simple and occasionally smoke people. Get the TSI/

But I like the leather seats in the GTi more than the fabric ones on the TSI. Is there anyway to replace those on the TSI with leather ones? Aiyah.. VW apa Nazi? Those are in the past lah.... in that case, Japanese stuff also cannot buy lah. sweat.gif

It is sexy indeed. The last time I saw the price was RM2600++ for one pair. Can find it at exoticmods:

anyone find the lag in the throttle response during stop start movement weird?

Was test driving it in pj and was at a round about during pre-peak hour time.. saw a gap/chance in the car flow and wanted to go for it. Press down the accelerator and nothing happens for like a second or so... den it suddenly surges forward. Thing is.. in the time it takes for the car to move from standstill, the gap already closed up and the car's too near... had to jam the brakes or else would've knocked into someone.. I was like wtf..

is that the characteristics of the DSG or due to engine response?

Didn't seem that obvious to me when I was driving it in Bangsar, especially between speed bumps and the car in front. Always managed to speed up at the slightest tap of the accelerator and easily overtook several cars as well going up the Bangsar hill along Lorong Maarof.

That's the mechatronics deciding on your drive style. My friend in a MkV Gti told me about it, something like if the previous driver was driving at a leisurely pace, the mechatronic predicts that you're going for a leisurely drive in advance, so when you floor the throttle it takes a while to get used to the new driving style.

Added on September 27, 2010, 11:44 amAnyone know if we can choose different rims as an option? I like the ori rims but they seem too small. If all goes well will place booking later this month.
