some also say that german cars have a more gentle way of taking off
in their country traffic jams are less and mostly are motorway driving

you can get used to it after some time, slightly before you want to take off, press it already

That's the mechatronics deciding on your drive style. My friend in a MkV Gti told me about it, something like if the previous driver was driving at a leisurely pace, the mechatronic predicts that you're going for a leisurely drive in advance, so when you floor the throttle it takes a while to get used to the new driving style.

Added on September 27, 2010, 11:44 amAnyone know if we can choose different rims as an option? I like the ori rims but they seem too small. If all goes well will place booking later this month.

yah read abt how the computer will try to adapt to your driving style and do calculation lah ini itu .. seems to be like an adaptive gearbox that learns your driving style ..

anyways i dun c any prob with slow pickup.. i kinda feel it's too difficult to drive in a jam.. coz touch the gas pedal a bit only the whole car feels like wanna jump n whack the car in front's backside... a bit jerky when u r caught in a jam coz too much power . wink.gif but once on open road.. it's cruises with speed and elegant smile.gif

is that the characteristics of the DSG or due to engine response?
*
raist86 I think this is a DSG thing, the clutch doesn't engage as smoothly as a manual and there is a point where it's actually disengaged unlike a regular auto transmission. I have the same problem on the Mini with it's automated manual gearbox. Jerky and a slight but annoying delay when you're transitioning from stop to go.

It depends on where you booked it. I booked mine 1st week of September and its arriving at the end of October sad.gif

Also depends on the colour availability as well.

hello guys n girls,

since this is a VW thread specifically for Polo & Rocco, i wanted to ask bout your opinions.

with the 1.2 Polo being so affordable, will it be a better buy for the purpose of 1)weekend car 2)family car 3)personal outing car; compared to the 1.4 tsi?

the reason is because i am going to have a company car for my work soon(a 4x4), so my current ride would probably be left at home only to be used when either 3 need above is required.

my intention is to sell my current ride for something smaller & more economical, since the family already has a mpv & family sedan for the general family outing. my new ride will be a backup or alternative only, otherwise it will be almost exclusively my own use.

p/s: for the same purpose, can rocco ferry 5 people comfortably? at least for short distance (like family dinner), because if we are going outstation the other family sedan/mpv would be used instead.

If you put a downpayment of RM15k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM2757.85/month

If you put a downpayment of RM50k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM2087.02/month

If you put a downpayment of RM75k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM1607.85/month

If you put a downpayment of RM100k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM1128.69/month

If you put a downpayment of RM150k and pay 3% for 5 years its RM170.35/month

Also depends on your insurance, whether you can claim 55% NCB so the monthly figures above will vary.

dude, thats why i am asking "can rocco ferry 5 people comfortably"

sigh, why some people have to respond so aggressively? i wasn't asking blanks. i can't test drive every single car in VW unless i want them to brand me "gao gao zhan mou pong chan". the 1.4 TSi was really good and close to what i was looking for, but just wondering how "less good" the 1.2 would be, if anyone here knows.

thx 1st.

@eddie_al: sorry mate, but how was yan's reply aggressive?

the rocco has 4 individual fixed seats:

so unless you want someone to sit ON the middle, and they actually like that, then yes. it can seat 5 comfortably.

thx for the photos.

so i guess it's the same problem as the "4-seater" passat.

p/s: you might think i am being sensitive, but considering how the reviewers always says 4 seater, when some might still actually seat 5, only not so comfortable. but with the attached photo it clarifies the "4-seater" because they are infact individual seats.

sorry & thx.

so, how about golf against polo? the vw website is hopeless as it doesnt show the interior for polo.

i haven't seen the new polo in person yet; but it should be able to seat 5; how comfortable will depend on body size (golf = good, polo = smaller), of course smile.gif

edit: this might help - http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/volkswagen-p...e-polo-at-expo/

actually, i thought the golf was a brilliant car. reading how the new Jetta will be a sedan vers of Golf, that it makes it even better choice.

too bad the new Jetta is still a long way to reach here, & i would probably want to sell my car by this year end if possible.

sorry (to yan) & thx again for earlier comments.

The Polo would be a little cramp for 5 people but if they are all small sized then its ok. I had 5 people in the Golf MkVI GTI and its not really that comfortable either so I think the Polo would be a tad bit difficult.

But if it is for children and all, then its fine. You can actually see the Polo at VW Wearnes Bangsar, its sitting in their basement tongue.gif

Note that this is not their for sale model, its the stripped down bare version.
