Damn, why lah Jetta, How come the Jetta Passat and MPV for what?
I want PoLO to be in same price level as Ford Fiesta and Vios, so i can smoke the Vios anytime. even i have a little less power. Due to DSG.. haha.. Dont know will it happen a not? Also my ultimate is Golf... 160Ps man.. for a 1.4 engine and DSG .. But price also at 155K. |

wah azxel, you tested the fiesta. the golf, both are double clutches. So what exactly are you looking at. The golf is a totally different level here and Polo and fiesta probably not side by side either. Cheapest is fiesta. then polo and then golf. this is also what i had in mind. but by stages. Fiesta first, get poison with double clutches. Then from polo 77kw 7 speed dsg to a whopping 1.4 golf 118kw. and ultimately the 155kw golf GTI. but by then im too old for a fast car like Golf GTI. Afraid that might end up in a passat or a peugeot 508

Afraid that might end up in a passat or a peugeot 508 im about 30 now. if i buy one fiesta. loan 5 years i be 36. Then i change to polo and loan again 5 years or less. i be 38... By the time i get a grab of the golf. i be 40... hahaha... but i was thinking of skipping the fiesta and go for the polo straight. Cause i feel the golf is a bit too expensive for its size. But then again 90% of the time i drive alone what the heck i want a big car for. no one sits at the back. Thats is why now i feel my 9 year old waja is a little too big. Sluggish, and fuel consuming. So i was looking at fiesta seriously before it got launch. Then i went to go molest it the other day. finding the buttons plastic are not much better than any other japanese car. I regret to say this that the vios fit and finish is very much better than the fiesta. Although vios is just a transport that brings you to point a and b in a cheap way. Only suitable for people who couldn't care less and no passion about owning a car... don't mind me... its the way i think... honda is too expensive in every way. And Mazda is not very much better. So its down to keeping my old waja and get it repaired and use it for another good 5 to 6 years then i go all the way to VW dream land. But by then i be 5 to 6 years unhappy and missing the fun in my coming to midlife years. Added on September 9, 2010, 2:19 pm QUOTE(azxel @ Sep 9 2010, 11:57 AM) heh.. a few more years and I'll hit 40 hey i believe by 40 you have a full load of cash to throw in probably about half and go for a 5 year plan... I wonder the golf is it priced like this every else around the world?still, spending more than RM100k on a car sounds kinda extreme at times... had a go with the golf 1.4tsi just now. very fast. very smooth. but power comes in a little slower. Because before that tested passat CC. The power on the CC was tremendous. But too bad malaysians love to block your way and driving 50kmh on the outer road. Golf has paddle shifters great too. Can anytime press to downshift 2 gears then only you can feel the power kick in. But reaches 180kmh in no time. with 7 gears the transmission is smooth. Very very nice ride. Cut into lanes cutting infront of slow drivers. All with confidence that the car can make it. Anyway who is interested. Better get a grip of it now. Really cool but expensive car. If size is not the matter. at 160k it is a great buy.

yup your wife is correct, for that GTI price better go get a merc or bmw. But if you are the non common one that want to join the Nazi's legacy, try VW.
Ok how to choose between GTI and TSI? simple. if you are someone who loves to go fast and smoke other drivers get the GTI. If you are someone that loves to take it simple and occasionally smoke people. Get the TSI/ |

well i took the polo in 222 for a spin today... the red one. First impression. very nice looking car from outside. Driver side interior looks the same as golf. when looking at the aircond knob. Ai ya... manual leh.. put off liau... then no traction control. and very very basic. Fit and finish not as nice as golf from germany. But very much better than Japanese cars. Space. very very cramp. feels like sitting in a kancil or myvi. Back sit. seriously not comfortable. Driver seat ok. So comfort i feel very very poor. Boot space., seriously small. very very small, not joking go see yourself.
Engine... small but seriously powerful. dont look at 1.2cc ah... it flies very very well. A bit of a lag under 2k rpm. but after that it just goes. DSG nothing to say lah same like golf. only without paddle shits. But in the end went to lancer next door. sat in the EX,,, the seat feels so much more comfortable than the polo. And size so much bigger.. now the question is. is it worth to pay for the engine and gear box while sacrificing all the comfort and space? Polo or VW seriously know how to make a very very good engine and gearbox. At 110k i think i have to review my choices. To axel. have you taken the polo for a spin. My backs not feeling very comfortable you know. just a mere 15 min drive around. |

So fiesta is not as good as polo or golf. Polo not as comfortable as fiesta, and golf is too bloody expensive.
Nothing in between kah? Polo seriously nice looking. daily 1 hour drive i think it is ok. long distance tolong lah sakit belakang loh... Golf very nice. Maintenance until pokai. Damm confuse. in the end end up with the Vios. what the heck. |
