so left 1.6 Gb
still sufficient...for now!

I dont think brand matters much but the Class 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 determines the speed. Class 10 is fastest, Class 2 being the slowest (I still cannot believe Maxis provided 2GB Class 2!) Some say the speed dont play much of a role and some say otherwise. I think it does. I have installed so many things on my phone that I've used up the entire 2GB. I installed quite a few games from Gameloft and game data usually takes up 100MB++. When I play RPG game, Zenonia, some times it will lag causing me to die and lose EXP! When I launch the ALL PROGRAMS menu, the icons shows up batch by batch. I just hope Class 10 will help me solve all these.

SD Class ratings  are quite a limited indication of speed (The Class number is the minimum MB/s write speed, eg. Class 2 is 2MB/s). In my experience all recent big brand (>=8GB) Class 2 cards give at least 6MB/s write speed, which means they could just as well be called Class 6. So my speculation is that since Class 6 was the highest official rating available for quite a while (Class 10 was only added very recently), this caused manufacturers to only use the higher class ratings on their genuinely faster cards and to charge accordingly, (otherwise they would have all been Class 6). So C2=standard, C4=faster, C6=even yet still faster, C10=fastest.

They have done alot of test of different brand and different class of MicroSD, it seems like brand does matters alot, and some how our Desire speed is capped at a level where even higher Class card won't break the barrier.

  :shock:What happen? Is it the searching error or navigation error?

I've think I've finally discovered a way to rectify the Read Only issue.

Try it and verify that it works
1. Connect your phone and connect as "Disk Drive".
2. Right click the mounted SD Card--->Click "Properties".
3. Goto "Tools" tab ----> click "Check Now" on "Error Checking" section.
4. Make sure "Automatically fix file system errors" is checked----> click "Start"
5. Let it run, then it'll show you a report when it finishes, just click "Okay"/"Close".
6. Safely remove the drive and check on your phone if its still Read Only

IIRC, need. But the cache stay in memory card.

Hi guys, out of the many custom ROMs you all have flashed, which one can support Papago X5? I heard Froyo does not support Papago yet. 
What GPS navigation software r u guys using on your custom ROMs? Mind to share?

did you get ur kingmax class 10 already? if so download J benchmark from Market, set the buffer size to 8KB and run the test. report back your read/write speed

ok, i am downloading the relevant files now and should start the rooting process in a while... wish me good luck!!    I think I will flash NextSense 5.3 at the moment since it has sense UI.

BUT before I do that, reading from maliqu's guide, I will need to backup using Titanium backup (this will backup all my data - sms, notes, etc., right?)  but the guide din mention when shall I restore back the data.
