QUOTE(Geminist @ Aug 1 2010, 09:42 PM) Froyo updated, quick and easy. First update failed as I didn't have more than 25MB of space on my phone. Else installation took about 5 minutes. Using a Europe set? I guess for "6" it's a manual migration process then1) Interface looks to be roughly the same. 2) Faster response on home screen. 3) A few new apps, including 720p video, wifi hotspots for tethering, some new widgets, flashlight, a cuter call screen, updated messages, so typing is easier etc. 4) The update kept all the settings on the phone and apps on the phone as they are. Broken link for voice search, not end of the world. 5) 270 deg rotation. 6) App on SDCard. Needs to be supported by app though. |

QUOTE(chding @ Aug 2 2010, 02:04 AM) http://bbs.gfan.com/android-174983-1-1.html Not sure, I guess it's up to SISGot a guide from Chinese forum. It looks like we need to flash it to ver1.2.1 first in order to update Froyo ROM. But my question is will we lost the warranty from Maxis or SiS? It's probably the same as what the guy posted earlier: QUOTE(t3chn0m4nc3r @ Aug 2 2010, 01:21 AM) install this RUU ROM: And my guess is, you should be able to OTA after that (no need to do manual update anymore)http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/RUU_...6984_signed.exe It's an original UNROOTED World Wide English HTC Desire ROM. It has no English(US) locale though. I'm using this. |

I think I give it up for now - can live with 2.1 although the chinese BBS posted by chding may work (just not willing to change the identity of the phone as I'm not a risk taker)
At the same time sent SiS an email on any idea of timing for us to get the official froyo OTA |

QUOTE(akachester @ Aug 3 2010, 08:54 AM) I suggest you to either, try getting a Ubuntu Live CD, which doesn't require installation or get yourself an XP. I tried Unrevoked with XP without any problem Using this oneBtw, which rooted original FroYo are you guys using? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775 Pretty much a stock Desire Sense with Froyo 2.2 + Busybox I just got Maps [brut] installed with voice navigation |

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Aug 3 2010, 09:53 AM) great to see u joining the "darkside" btw Downloading Leedroid 1.7 now... maybe I should give it a try laterWith phone rooted and new radio installed, I guess I just need to run titanium backup, nandroid backup and flash the ROM, then restore titanium backup right? If I don't really need A2SD+, i don't really have to partition my SD card right? |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Aug 3 2010, 04:48 PM) The stock ROM. Loving it. Good, I am using that as well, Leedroid ROM 1.7 is giving me some headache (not able to install app from market, restarts everytime I install) - luckily the nandroid recovery stuff works! And I guess maliqu3's tutorial need some changes. Will write one later as I'm in office now QUOTE(DecaPix @ Aug 3 2010, 05:37 PM) i got unrevoked working with Win 7 x64 eh. Yeah, I am wondering how to remove it as wellBut windows only recognize the fat32 portion. it wont merge the ext2 back to the fat32 I guess formatting the SD card won't help? EDIT: Formatting from the phone works - of course, backup whatever data you have first This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 3 2010, 06:05 PM |

QUOTE(danshi @ Aug 3 2010, 07:28 PM) Hi bro, I planned to install Leedroid ROM 1.7, mind sharing on the problems you are facing using it. I used ROM manager to install Lee Droid ROM 1.7 (with wipe data and backup options)After the first boot, I had to go to Market to download Tatanium backup to do the restore, but it reboots every time I attempt to install any application. Been reading around - apparently not many people encounter this. Maybe I should try the "Fix permission" stuffs in ROM Manager first? |
