Hi ASUSmy,

I have this annoying problem with my RT-N66U router. It disconnects my mobile devices inttermintently on random occasions and when reconnecting, it requests for the authentication credentials once again, eventhough its been set before. Sometimes keying in the credentials once again it works and sometimes it does not. I had to resort to get my devices to "Forget" the network and reconnect...

Second problem is during wireless streaming, it will stop and "buffer" the content (movie) and when it resumes, the show is on fast forward mode... There was no activity (blinking leds) on the router and it shows a constant led during the "pause" mode....

I'm currently on the latest firmware 3.0.0.4.260.... Appreciate your advice....

Guys, I am going to PC Fair. Which one is more stable and trouble free with UNIFI - RTN16 or RT N56?. Thanks

Bought ASUS RT N56U. Still using the old firmware and it is awesome. Hopefully it will last longer than 9 months unlike RT N13U.

Well, devices affected with the disconnection would be iPhone & Android phones.... (on the 2.5ghz band) As for desktop, it seems fine except when I stream stuff from it into a Dune. The Dune is connected via cable to the N66U.... and N66U over WiFi (5ghz band).

Would you mind sharing your setup with me? I've setup mine based on KLSeet's site...

Hi cress, you can try do a factory restore, and without doing any special setting, just select the PPPoE, select your ISP type, key in user name and password, put network key on both the band and finally set the time zone.

After doing all this, see the problem still exist or not.

Thank you.

Hi STC, i also cannot find this firmware on the website, but there is a latest firmware you can use, version 3.0.0.4.260. You can download it with below link. This firmware will change the UI to our new ASUSWRT UI.

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLan...56U_3004260.zip

Here is the changelog

1. After upgrading to 3.0.0.4.260 and restarting your router, please press the reset button for more than 5 seconds to reset the system to the default settings.
2. The original download master is not compatible with new firmware. Please uninstall the download master utility in computer and remove the "Complete", "InComplete" folder in the hard drive plugged in RT-N56U usb port.
3. Upgrade to the latest ASUSWRT user interface
4. Enhanced QoS feature
5. Web based download master
6. PPTP VPN server
7. Flexible on-line time control for different client

Thank you

Hi danialfarhan, you mean cannot find your connection type right? Let us try redo all the step. But first, if can please update the firmware to the latest by using the link below.

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLan..._B1_3004260.zip

If you unable to download it, please follow the step below.

Please do a factory reset to the unit by pressing the reset button at the back of the router for 5sec. The power LED will blink.

Once restart from the factory reset, login to router again and redo the setting again.

Select PPPoE, at the bottom there you can see there is a check box, tick it and select the ISP type on your right.

Then keyin your username and password for your unifi. Then your network key you preferred and then then finish the setting.

Try see you can online or not.

Thank you

Is the 3 year 1-to-1 exchange warranty still valid?
I have an ASUS RT-N16. It's still working perfectly.

I'm asking because I want to make sure the 1-to-1 exchange is still valid in case something bad happens.
Also, where can we do the 1-to-1 exchange?

Hi sHawTY, the 1 to 1 exchange is still valid. And you need to send back to the place you bought.

Hi hnr2802, due to the new firmware is using new interface, it is advisable that you redo the setting instate on restoring back.

When you select the PPPoE when doing the quick setup, at the bottom there got a check box, tick the check box and you can select your ISP type at the right hand side, then fill in you user name and password and follow the step to finish your setup.

Thank you
