Hi Kenneth,
I am also having no connection at times. My original firmware was 8.X.X.X for my RT-N13U Bversion. KLSEET setup the firware. After having the lost connection problem which can happen from every 2 days I upgraded to the Version RT-N13U.RB_2.0.2.5g but it was okay for about 5 days only. I can even access to the ASUS 192.168.1.1 page. I need to reboot and it will be okay for 1 or two days.

So can I upgrade to RT-N13U.RB_9.1.2.5I or to the 2.0.2.5H version? Sorry ..me newbie.

Thanks

RT-N13U.RB_9.1.2.5I is the latest then RT-N13U.RB_2.0.2.5H.

But u can try both see which 1 is more stable.

Thank you.    rclxms.gif

Thanks Friend for the clarification. The log say Internet connection down. And every time the date reverts to August 26, 2011. Will see tomorrow if DC again.

Just to report in after 1 week + using RT-N13U with 9.1.2.5I, still DCed a lot compare to previous 2.0.2.5F. Now back to 2.0.2.0_0531w and so far running fine.

hard to recommend this model to anyone due this this unstable FW issue.

FW 9.1.2.5I was okay for about 1 week and now same problem started. Wonder if the unit's capacitors is dying?

using RB_2.0.2.0_0531w keep disconnected then can't access the router, but maybe its the router faulty, because they replaced with new unit. this new unit using latest firmware. until now no disconnected. *sigh, still worry.
*
It is strange why we cannot connect the homepage. After rebooting everything works fine. I believe disconnection takes place when there is inactivity for a period of time. It cannot be faulty Router because why should it work after reboot. damn I cannot locate the receipt. Mine is just about a year old.

Thank you, Vergas. My setting is exactly like your. Did you set the time setting to reflect local time? The problem may have started when I adjusted it to reflect local time. Since yesterday, I left it to default - even though there was a message saying the time is incorrect or something like that but not disconnection so far for about 27 hours.

I also put 99999999 seconds for time idle for disconnection. Let's see how long it lasts without DC.

Thank again for the snapshots.

OK died again this morning. Could MyBook Live cause this symptom? Will disconnect it today and see how long this is going to last this time.

May I know where do u enter XXXX seconds for idle time?
*
Can remember off hand. It should be at the Administration tab. ANYWAY, that did not help. Now, I am wondering if there is a conflict between MYbook Live and ASUS router. Anyone here know how to open the ASUS RT-N13 router? I want to check if the caps are alright.

Hi guys,
It seems like some of you here is facing problem with RT-N13U. .....
Thanks for being responsible. It is hard to find suppliers or outlets to shoulders responsibilities voluntaraly. Meanwhile, could you see if external devices such as MYBOOK LIVE can cause this problem.

I initital had MYBOOK LIVE page having same problem that the default homepage take forever to log in. WD actually aware this problem and told me to return them for replacements but now mybook live is working flawless. Just wondering if these two issues related.

i wonder what ASUS M'sia is gonna do about the RT-N13U routers
recall back and upgrade?? new firmware??

unless they could come up with a fix quick i guess a lot off user is starting to loose their patience with the brand
*
It may well be problem related to factors. Maybe, the BTU unit causing the conflict. Long time ago when the TP Link USB wifi was introduced it wasn't working with my XP computer. After numerous email to TP Link they gave. it is later I discovered that I have to completely uninstall Zonealarm before installing the USB wifi. I then inform them how I solved the problem and now you can see they have updated their installation guide to uninstall both ZA and Kaspersky software.

ASUS is a reliable brand and I believe this is something that was not due to their incompetency. let,s hope for the best and mutual provide our feedback to solve the problem.

Yeah..let's hope so.
But I've observed that even if I use the router with a 3G dongle, the same is happening. At times even without any BTU or other WAN devices (I'm running the router as a hub/switch) it would hang. Today itself I've rebooted twice

Yes me too. In the morning and just about midnight. I was using it fine then went to get a glass of water suddenly DC. This morning still okay so far.

Update Beta Firmware:-

Going strong more than 24 hours.... not a single reboot and good WIFI. (touch wood).

Meanwhile, try to power off everything overnight before upgrading firmware. Not sure if scientifically it makes any difference but superstitiously it is working for me...so far..(touch wood, again)

Just changethe firmware to DD-WRT. Never had a problem since converting. And that's 1 year 2 months now.
*
I also had no problem for more than six or seven months with the first FW from KLSeet. Is this problem unique to UNIFI + ASUS or UNIFI +any router? But what causes it to refuse the default page login is still a mystery.

Even as a Repeater it still disconnects and hangs, i don't think its Unifi related. Yea the new K firmware isn't a fix, i'm still experiencing the same issues.
*
Just checked the log and 2days 10 hours with perfect connection with the beta fw. Btw, every two minutes interval I have a reading in the log that "miniupnpd 330 cannot connect to Ethernet 2.5.500. Any idea what's that?

But I am cautiously optimistic because upon the upgrading of the previous FW the connection was good for about a week before DC, again.

I am using DD-WRT. I was told that there are some problems with 13U. Currently DD-WRT fixes disconnection issue , however you'll lose IPTV. It can't do IPTV routing , so if you don't mind losing IPTV and want stable Internet , get DD-WRT
*
Lost connection again about 30 minutes. Off the router for about 10 second with WAN disconnected but BTU is still left On.

First Log before plugging in the WAN.

One thing I noticed that while DC the LAN lights flickers steadly but slightly...You have to really watch carefully for the difference while connected and not connected.

Will try DD-WRT..I dont use the IPTV. Thanks friend.

i've been rebooting my RT-N13U on daily basis now, ever since i'm running the ver.K firmware

the router not only drops internet connections, but on the internal LAN it also have some issues on the WiFi & DHCP functionality

@ASUSmy, any advise on this? Is Asus M'sia gonna do something about this??
*
The original FW from KLseet worked okay for six months without any problem. Now all the FW are giving the same DC. Could this be hardware problem?

Hi Prarsys, could you point me DD-WRT setup page for Unifi (without the IPTV, of course). I thought I saw the instructions in KLSeet site but it is only partial or is that all is required?

ASUSMY, Any solution to our problem?

My book live is in NTFS format. Both were both bought almost the same time and the router was functioning okay. I will experiment with disconnecting the MBL.
