Hi amirsubhi, I will pm you a link where you can download a ASUSWRT firmware to update on the router. See whether it can solve your problem or not. Its a beta firmware, we are testing on this firmware also.

Thank you

How to I return RT-N13U for repairs under warranty? It seems I cannot return to ASUS directly. ASUSMY, kindly tell me the procedure. I am told that the dealer will charge us service charge.

Meanwhile, I am planning to buy a new router for UNIFI during the PC FAIR. Anyone can give me a good suggestion?

Hmmm...from what I understand for previous RMA process for other items, normally the shop will charge a shipping fee the first year of product warranty. I would suggest to send the faulty device to the distributor instead.

Hope this helps =)

Thanks a lot ASUSmy.  Just Bought the RT-65U since the latest firmware supports aicloud.

Works great but I'm having difficulties syncing my files to my connected external hard drive.  I was able to sync the files in my free 5 GB asus webstorage cloud to my external harddrive.  But I'm not sure how to sync the files on my PCs to the external hard drive.  The PCs show up in aicloud.  But right clicking on the folders/drives doesn't seem to do anything and I can't find anything that will allow me to "sync" the files.

I'm also having troubles with networking to my connected Canon Inkjet ip1800 printer.  The printer shows up on my asuswrt and I can print from one of my computers (the one I set up the router with).  But for some reason, none of my other PCs seem to be able to access the drive.  I have windows vista, windows 8, windows 7, and windows 7 starter (netbook) on my computers.

Do you or anyone else here have any suggestions on my above two issues?  I tried calling ASUS support but they couldn't help me with aicloud and wouldn't help me with my printer issue.

Thanks.

Hi heehee62, you need to install a software from webstorage if you want to sync the file with the computer. You can download it on the link given below.

https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/downloads/

As for the printer, the other PC need you to install the printer utilities first before you can use this function.

Thank you.

Hi STC, yes the dealer will charge for the service charge as most of the dealer only provide 1 year FOC for sending product for warranty, this apply for other brands also.

Thank you

RT-N56U use a Ralink chipset which even until now are not 3rd party firmware friendly, not tomato, dd-wrt or even openwrt. The only alternative i've seen for this model is padawan modified Asuswrt firmware.

yes thats good enough , he has installed optware (aka ipkg packages) , you can install heaps of things. Its good enough for me already and its way better compared to the stock asus firmware

Thanks for the reply ASUSMY. How much service charge are we talking about? Full charge to be sent to Taiwan as Malaysia service centre not doing doing the service. Since a new RT N13U is around RM160 perhaps it is not worth it.

Anyway, can we RT N13U have a special deal on the PC FAIR? ASUSMY, persuade ASUS to make a deal with the unfortunate RT N13U buyers.

Hi STC, the service charge will not be that expensive. The reseller mostly will help send back to the distributor from Malaysia. The charge is mostly less than RM50.

As for the trade in, I will have to ask my management. If you planning to buy ASUS router, please PM me the model then I will help ask also.

Thank you

guys, just a quick and really noob question.

what does this ASUSes routers do? i mean, it will replace the BTU + router if i bought 1 ASUS router. can the router connect to the HyppTV as well? or we still need the BTU combined with the ASUS router.

please enlighten me.

thanks.

You still need the BTU. IIRC there is no option without BTU currently. It will only replace TM's D-Link router.

Hi JosephChen, below is a link where you can understand more on the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz for dual band router.

http://compnetworking.about.com/od/wireles...f/5ghz-gear.htm

In summary, 2.4Ghz has wider coverage but low data rate. 5Ghz have low coverage(the higher frequency wireless signals of 5 GHz networks do not penetrate solid objects nearly as well as do 2.4 GHz signals, limiting their reach inside homes) but higher data rate.

Thank you
