QUOTE(Currylaksa @ Apr 17 2012, 08:57 PM) I'm trying to replace company's router since it is having VPN issues. The answer is totally up to you.Is it worth it to buy RT-N16U instead of ASUS RT-N13U? If you think it's worth it to get a gigabit lan feature, then it's 100% worth it. Gigabit LAN is very crucial to me, that's why I choose N16. PS: There is no N16U. Only N16 The N13U however has an extra function that N16 doesn't have. The 3G Router function. I was hoping I could bridge the UNiFi + 3G connection so I can get better download speed. I have a Maxis unlimited broadband data plan & I'm living in an area where I can get 6Mb/s connection from my Maxis Unlimited. Now looking for something that can do just that. Is the 3 year 1-to-1 exchange warranty still valid?
I have an ASUS RT-N16. It's still working perfectly. I'm asking because I want to make sure the 1-to-1 exchange is still valid in case something bad happens. Also, where can we do the 1-to-1 exchange? |

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Dec 13 2012, 01:48 PM) Hi sHawTY, the 1 to 1 exchange is still valid. And you need to send back to the place you bought. I prefer going straight to the distributor.Thank you Would you be kind enough to provide the official distributor for my ASUS RT-N16 that can do the 1-to-1 exchange? |

QUOTE(tommyfai @ Dec 19 2013, 08:10 PM) hi all, I too have been using OpenDNS since the SKMM blockage.i was using N56U.. i was having trouble with dns lately.. all connection on the lights modem and router seems fine.. but the dns i was using opendns... everytime i off the router and on back the next day.. i can't connect to internet but iptv and phone is fine.. i have to change back and forth google dns and only working.. it is kinda weird lately.. tq But it's starting to get unstable since November. I initially tought my router / modem is not working. Then a few weeks ago I change to Google DNS & everything is working perfectly. And since you stated the same problem with OpenDNS, it's clear now, the problem isn't with our hardwares, it's OpenDNS itself. |

QUOTE(milky @ Dec 12 2014, 11:57 AM) sorry my mistake.. i should say can this rt-n16 flash to ddwrt and work with UNIFI? Yes, but it's quite tricky.klseet has some guide on enabling UniFi on DD-WRT, but it's for other routers. Enabling UniFi connectivity is 1 thing, enabling HyppTV is another that'll give you lots of headache. Only go for DD-WRT if you know what you're doing & you've done a lot of reading / research. |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Dec 19 2014, 10:27 PM) Want to ask if firmware Version 3.0.0.4.376.3637 for RT-N56U can I just update and use with Unifi? Am using firmware version 1.0.1.8b. Please advice. Yes.All the latest official firmware for ASUS routers has native support for UniFi. Remember to reset the router to factory defaults before upgrading the firmware. & don't ever restore the old settings that you saved from the older firmware as it will not work on the new firmware. |

AsusWRT-Merlin 376.49 STABLE has been released.
Changelog: CODE 376.49 (21-Dec-2014) - NEW: Merged with Asus GPL 376_3677. This new code includes a lot of changes related to USB modem support. - NEW: IPv6 handling based on dnsmasq + odhcp6c. This new code which has been developped by Asus these past few months but kept disabled so far has been enabled. Initial tests show much better reliability with different ISPs. - NEW: Added IPv6 support to DNSFilter (currently only Yandex has IPv6 servers). Note that unlike IPv4 filtering, we cannot automatically NAT queries to the desire server, so the current implementation works like Asus's YandexDNS service, where IPv6 servers are simply returned to DHCPv6/RA client queries, and ip6tables ensures that you cannot override them, by rejecting connection to other DNS servers. - CHANGED: Merged newer DPI engine from 378_3123 beta (AC87) - CHANGED: Removed SSLv2 and v3 support from OpenSSL (we had already stopped using these in 376.48, so this removes unused code) - CHANGED: The VPN webui is now a bit closer to Asus's code. This will mostly make it easier to keep in sync with future changes to that UI by Asus (they rearranged the layout a bit in 376_36xx). - CHANGED: Updated OpenVPN to 2.3.6 - CHANGED: Reverted to Asus's max-lease number calculation for dnsmasq - CHANGED: Hide wireless key on settings page unless field has focus (patch by John9527) - CHANGED: Ported USB 3.0 (XHCI) kernel driver from Netgear GPL (which seems to have in turn backported it from upstream kernel 3.x) - CHANGED: Updated Quantenna to v36.7.3.23 (AC87) - FIXED: vsftpd wasn't properly compiled with SSL support. - FIXED: MAC filtering couldn't be disabled on Guest networks (Asus bug) (Patch by John9527) - FIXED: Various fixes and tweaks to the new IPv6 code from Pinwing and saintdev - FIXED: Editing a client on the networkmap would cause any matching DHCP reservation entry to lost its hostname - REMOVED: The web redirection control setting was removed, as it is being replaced by the (simpler) redirection setting Asus added to the System page. |

AsusWRT-Merlin 376.49 STABLE Update 4 has been released.
Changelog: CODE 376.49_4 (27-Dec-2014) - FIXED: WAN page error when entering a hostname, and broken UPNP FAQ link - FIXED: OpenVPN Server wasn't showing the Advertize DNS to Client option (regression from 3677 merge) - FIXED: bootloop when enabling Traditional QoS (or any other feature that forces CTF to be disabled) due to FA being left enabled (Asus bug) (AC87) |

QUOTE(maxguy @ Dec 29 2014, 01:55 PM) AsusWRT-Merlin 376.49 STABLE Update 4 There are 3 ways to report bugs within AsusWRT-Merlin firmwares.unifi ipv6 not working 1. You can email him at merlin@lostrealm.ca 2. You can contact him by twitter: https://twitter.com/RMerlinDev 3. You can post the issue you're facing direclty on his thread in SmallNetBuilder Forums: http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=21483 He's active mostly in the SmallNetBuilder forum. I'm trying to get him here in our forum. Maybe I should create a support thread for AsusWRT-Merlin first then maybe he'll come. Here's hoping. |
