So monkeyking, how do you explain YES's early claim to be commitment free but we end up still having the Minimum Usage Requirement of RM30?  That is BLATANT FALSE ADVERTISING if you ask me.  Ethically YTL has already shown how low they can go.
*
wub.gif Peace with you brother parsona. YES, YES said no commitment fees.......maybe it means no contracts to sign & you can get out anytime whenever you feel like it.......even after 1 month with no strings attached.....no commitment fees means that you don't have to pay for the service whether you use it or not. AS FOR OTHER BROADBAND PROVIDERS, THEY CHARGE YOU A FEES MONTHLY WHETHER YOU USE IT OR NOT.

icon_rolleyes.gif After all, the $30 per month includes your mobile internet, voice and sms too [altogether] & not for mobile internet only......so isn't that much cheaper than other ISP or telcos?

icon_rolleyes.gif I don't have the full details but you can always ask the staff there when you go to their store here....

Yes monkeyking. Pls explain...

That is one of the biggest downer info about the service after it launched.

Well? we are waiting...

---

well, someone from Yes should do the numbers...bcoz i believe many potential subscribers have been turned off by this.

with Yes you only pay for what you use:-

*how many months does the $50 activation fee cover the cost of maintaining an account if its is totally unused?

*can Yes still make money if a customer only uses $15 a month (say only 500Mb of data to check emails) + initial $50 activation fee over 5 years? vs. thousands that dont subscribe because of the $30 monthly commitment?

think about it...

You see monkeyking, commitment fees mean a user is committed to pay a certain amount per month, regardless of whether they use is or not. Now lets look at MUR. YES charges you RM30 whether the user uses it or not. Do tell me what is the difference??? I'm not going to pay to travel to your limited number of stores just to be dissapointed. Will you refund me my travel expenses if what YTL tells me just confirms the scam I already suspected they are running?

Bottomline is, YTL promised 'no commitment' and 'pay as you use'. With the MUR of RM30, neither of them are true.

icon_rolleyes.gif Brother almaty, you a Cybertrooper of rival telcos or ISP? hmm.gif You sound mighty angry & trying to hantam YES since it's intial launch!!! Too bad indeed!! I had already told you clearly that I don't have the full details but you seem not satisfy & still want to hantam continuously.......you said this "spreading un-truths"......comon brother, what untruths did I speak, you seem to be putting words in my mouth!! hmm.gif ....peace brother. icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_rolleyes.gif Just received some information from a senior staff of YES to clarify the "Minimum Usage Requirement of RM30"........

QUOTE
Other telco's postpaid commitment plan such as value 30 which they need to pay RM30 every month regardless if they use the phone or not. For prepaid, if they top up RM30, it only last for 30 days and whatever credit left will expire after a certain time.  For Yes, it's pay as you go. Just put a min credit of RM30 and use our service until the credit finish and then only you need to top up again. If it takes 6 month to finish the RM30, then you no need to top up fr 6 months. Yes credit also never expires.  So this is not the monthly commitment as how the other telcos are doing. It's just a minimum credit required to use Yes service. We may put it just RM1 but it means users need to top up more frequently.  For business or enterprise customers we will have the plan similar to what we have 'postpaid' now. These corp customers will be billed according to their monthly usage.

icon_rolleyes.gif Hope this helps!!

this is so not true! they have stated clearly in the T&C that they will deduct RM30 from your account every month regardless you use such amount or not!

Oh and we may casually forget that the Terms of Use is a binding agreement which we have to pay stamp duty on? I wonder which would carry more weight in case of a dispute, monkeyking's smileys or the agreement..... (although I have a nagging feeling that his smileys weigh more....) thumbup.gif

Clause (a): You are obligated to maintain the monthly MUR which will be ascertained at the end of the applicable Billing Cycle from Your total usage of the Services.

See the word "Monthly"? Monthly MUR of RM30 as published.

QUOTE
Clause © says so: If actual usage is less than the monthly MUR, then we first deduct any rebate such difference and if such rebate is insufficient then to deduct your credit balance.

So actual usage = RM10, (<RM30 as we all know), they will deduct the rebate, and then if it's insufficient to be deducted from, they will deduct from our credit.

Don't tell me the senior staff don't read their own term of usage? Sad to see this.

QUOTE
Just noticed that Clause (b): The MUR is specified at www.yes.my/en/say-yes/plan

But I cant physically find it from the webpage itself, hidden somewhere? super small font?

Enlighten me pls...

After that, just maintain a monthly usage of RM30 and you're all set to experience the fastest 4G mobile Internet with voice!
(noticed the typo youre => you're, they never check?)

Not that I want to hantam them, but they just don't give me the confidence of saying Yes.

This is true if you have signed up on auto credit card reload or auto payment. This allows the isp to charge to your credit card/debit card automatically when your account approaches the expiry date for uninterrupted usage.

But to think of it, let's say I keep topping up RM30 every month(the minimum rate to have the line remain active), and I don't use it, only for emergency once in a blue moon. Then it's like saving the top up amount and accumulating only to go on a download spree one day when I decide to terminate it.

Come to think of it, I can understand why they want a steady flow of revenue here and they were smart to get the students to jump into it with free 300mb. It's like free flow of subscription cash needed to sustain and maintain their network operations.

I believe YTL direction is to make their 4G network a backup line for those who often frustrates over TM's downtimes. People sometimes need to get online when they are rushing for school assignments as such wit minimal data usage, make online transactions. They do not want to promote their line as an unmanaged download service.

Some might take this as part of saving their data allocation volume for their primary internet downtimes, others may think why should I pay a steady income to YTL and put another burden to my monthly allowances.

The choice is yours.

Anyway for a working person what is RM30 these days? I can't even buy you a good lunch.this is by Francis's standards and his children who had lived in highly expensive cities such as London, Oxford city and Australia.
10 dollars(approx RM30) over there is peanuts, I tell ya.

Peace upon you too brother monkeyking,

Perhaps before you put YES words here, you should read their Terms of Use posted in their "sometime working, sometime not working" yes.my website and here is the link to their Terms of Use in PDF format

http://www.yes.my/ytlc-common/supportdoc/Terms_of_Use.pdf

You quoted YES's senior staff

And below is the screenshoot of their Terms Of Use for MUR

I know that you are trying to explain about YES in a positive way since you have a someone you know in YES senior staff, but i think you must have a good understanding on customer's dis-satisfaction, disappointment that we've posted here. Please post something that make sense with evidence or proof , not just mouth-to-mouth.

I suggest you to show that Term Of Use that i posted here to the "senior staff of YES" , let him/her know about that, and ask their latest information and share with us their thought about the MUR BUT MUST BASED ON THEIR TERMS OF USE.

Why i must highlight their Terms Of Use ??? its a rules set by YES on the Terms to use their service and you must obey their terms in order to use their service.

Thanks
almaty
