And if your location is covered, how strong will the signal be?
I notice that they are promoting themselves as mobile internet but I see they are catering to the home user too since they have that Zoom device. Lets say you download 50GB a month on Streamyx 4MB, and pay about RM 140 a month. Yes 50GB = RM 1536.00 ???? This doesn't make sense at all, they appear to be very serious about providing this internet service and have invested billions in it, coupled with all their claims on their website, so I'm still having some hope that on Friday all our questions will be answered and hopefully there will be logical rates. There should be...... right? BTW what's the source of that banner/ad with prices? This post has been edited by chris2k: Nov 17 2010, 06:50 PM |

But you still have to invest in their device.... isn't it cheaper to use present 3G services in case of emergency? Just get a weekly plan etc and you're set.

Thank you Maxsimax. Please tell that to post #251 who's edited his post a few times from "not aiming for PC users" to whatever it is now

This is simply hilarious, even after the rebate the rates are still hilarious.
For the past 2 weeks I thought it would be a 'better internet for all' and i would be 'truly free'. I thought I could use it at home, work and on the road, but it has turned out to be a 'better internet for a few'. Thank you Yes for keeping me anxious and entertained for the past couple of weeks, but I've realised I'll be a lot happier and freer with my current services and despite having plans with contracts and commitments. Am not even going to bother attending the launch tomorrow. |

I wonder if the credit will be used up if you are browsing the Yes website (assuming you can actually browse it
BTW their coverage seems rather spotty, can't even use their phone as your primary cellphone, still have to carry another 2G/3G phone around, then even if you get the Zoom device for home usage but you can hardly use it meaningfully without getting hit with charges like a tsunami.... so still have to go back to DSL or other telcos. Want to use as a backup internet you have to buy their device, pay for activation, have to use min RM 30 a month... when you can buy a 3G dongle instead and use it with any telco of your choice, want to change telcos just get another sim card which costs less than RM 10? So what's the point of using Yes? This post has been edited by chris2k: Nov 20 2010, 01:12 PM |

Oh and we may casually forget that the Terms of Use is a binding agreement which we have to pay stamp duty on? I wonder which would carry more weight in case of a dispute, monkeyking's smileys or the agreement..... (although I have a nagging feeling that his smileys weigh more....)
