how is this huawei thingy different from the fiberhome and dlink combination i have now?

I can only access the dlink and uncheck the remote management and change the passwords of admin and operator, haven't been daring enough to change anything else...

For people using ZTE 931 Series VDSL 2 Modem.

Below are the settings for VOIP

First of all, you have to set your NIC to a static IP of 192.168.1.2 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Gateway you may leave it blank.

Then connect a LAN cable from your computer's NIC to LAN 2 or LAN 3 or LAN 4 of the VDSL 2 modem. Do not use LAN 1.

Then access to the Web GUI of the VDSL 2 modem via a web browser by pointing it to 192.168.1.1

User/Pass = admin

Click on Voice on the left menu panel and you'll this page below.

All of the info are entered at column 1 and make sure the Account Enabled box is ticked under 1

Below are the screen shots of how the settings should be (May varies if you are from a different exchange, I am from Puchong)

Does anyone here know of a Unifi contractor I can call to rewire my internal fiber optics? I called TM Unifi, they said they'd get a contractor to call me, and it's been 2 to 3 weeks since, and my house contractor really needs the fiber optic rewired before he can proceed with certain things.
*
During the same day of installation, the TM contractor will come togther with TM staff. The contractor is not able to do any wiring in advance because all the fiber optic cable is with TM staff.

Yes, that's not supposed to be there. There should only be 1 active SIP profile. Guess the BTUs really are being broken into. Looks like TM is about to realize how important it is not to leave everything open. doh.gif

Serves them right for not listening IMO

Edit : 'Jack' is not a valid authname at all and is likely just the tag this skiddy is leaving behind.

oh crap i need to go home n fix that shit tonight... i saw the jack thing, but didnt know if its by default...

Right now if one calls the Unifi support number, you get a recorded message saying there is a known fault with the "Voice services" and expect a fix in 48 hours. Unifail.

well, rizvanrp tried to warn them, but they stubbornly refused to listen. Now I wonder who they will blame? Riz? lol. Their management seriously has issues.

It would also appear that the later implementations of the fiber infrastructure has been total fail. I think those that were implemented in the current phase? I believe first phase users aren't experiencing this packet loss problem.

My VOIP has been down the last few days, today I logged in to the BTU to take a look.

My SIP number and password were correct, but there was an entry "jack" below that ...

[attachmentid=1770742]

I unticked "enable" on that account, and applied the settings and immediately my VOIP light came back up, and I had a dial tone and could dial in and out.

Since I didn't make a backup of the config after installation, I'm not sure if that entry should be there at all ... though I suspect not. Can anyone confirm?

I failed to login Huawei GPON HG850a. I connected my notebook via LAN cable connected to LAN4 of HG850a and enter 192.168.100.1 but cannot get into the GPON page. Please advise.

That recording is definitely more than 48 hours old and they still don't seem to have answers.

I got my VOIP working based on info from this thread and when I called to follow up on my complaint of corrupted downloads, they just asked if VOIP was working without a proper explanation when I said it was.
And no answer at all about corrupted downloads. The guy made it sound like a very unique problem and asked me to email them some screenshots!
And they have to refer to stupid sounding departments like "follow-up" department and "abuse" department etc.
Also just received my TM/Streamyx bill for August yesterday and still billed for the whole month although I terminated the account at TMPoint.

2 days Ago I fixed my voip by changing the phone number and password. Just now I rem the "jack" thing, but right now the real prob is I am not even sure what other setting that this culprit had touched as I do not have the original config backup for huawei to restore. The SIP console setting that Rizvan pulled is on fiberhome, not Huawei. I checked, didnt notice any other thing diff(perhaps I am still new on this area) but I still prefer to know whats an original setting of huawei suppose to be.

or probably would be nice that we have a security guide for all the BTUs

EDIT : because I dont really trust the original setting of BTU are secured.

Same with me, I can't get into the BTU IP address (connect LAN4 of BTU to my notebook), when I check ipconfig, it stated, 167.xx.xx, weird IP address?

Try the command "ipconfig /renew" in the command prompt.

I can't perform the renewal of IP address, 'ipconfig /renew 169.xxx.xx' also, try ipconfig /release, still can't access to 192.168.100.1 as previous post on Huawei HG850a, any clue?

Thanks in advance

I think you don't need to use "ipconfig /renew 169.xxx.xxx.xxx". Just try "ipconfig /renew" will do.

If not, you can also try the following:

1. Ensure that you have set the IP addresses (correctly) as per the guide posted here for the correct network adapter.

2. Ensure that the PC you're using is only connected to the Huawei BTU and not any other network.

3. Disable and re-enable the network adapter.

4. Switch off the Huawei BTU for a while, then switch it on again.

5. Restart PC.

Should work after that. If not, maybe someone else can help? hmm.gif
