Hi Riz,

I have been following your thread the last couple of days... I;m one of the initial Unifi subscribers that were fortunate enough to be given the 20mbps connection free for 3 months.

My beef with them lies in the areas listed below:-

1) Inconsistent Communications - the unifi centre called me once the trial period was over, asking if i would like to proceed with the service @ 20 mbps, I said I am only interested with continuing under the 10mbps package. So they said no issue, u are a trial subscriber, instead of the RM199, u just pay RM149 for the service. I said ok. So thought all is fine, till i receive the bill, still at 20mbps. When i called the hotline, they said have to go to TMPoint and also technician needs to come and come and physically make some adjustments on my PC. To which they eventually came over this morning.

2) Another gripe was that they had said come 1st July they will automatically terminate my Streamyx account and continue with Unifi. That certainly didn't happen. Had to go to TMpoint to get it sorted. I was very frustrated and even the lady whom i scolded over the phone said actually i'm a trial subscriber so no need to go through all this, just over the phone will do...

I truly don't know what incompetent loons they have in TM as in some areas they make progress and other areas backward steps.....

Just wanted to let u know my scenario...

Added on August 23, 2010, 6:00 pmBTW, my dlink wireless router, doesn't seem to use the same password from before, previously the username was admin and password was telekom... Doesn't seem like the case now.

Anyone has any ideas on what is a possible username and password combination?

Thanks...

Exactly and well put newbie...

I will call the 1300 number and check again tmrw... But having said that I have an email from the peeps at Unifi indicating that I will be on the VIP10 plan as per the Registration Confirmation slip sent to me last week, and the tech that came this morning had that same piece of paper too... So keeping fingers crossed.

In regard to yr scenario, if they came ard saying u asked to terminate the 20mbps package and this wasn't the case, I would have F#$#@ them up royally... Trying to be funny... TM Point ppl just as clueless as ever.. *Malaysia Boreh*

ps. In regard to the link for getting into the dlink wireless router, no luck, I tried all combinations.. *GRR*

Better be careful man. I also had the same problem. TM didn't call me. I had to call them to get the package changed from Try & Buy -> VIP5. Then I received the bill still VIP20 bill. Then later a man came saying i asked to terminate my 20Mbps package. Then next bill I receive, they charge me penalty fee for early termination of the VIP20 = RM1300++ and next month VIP5 RM150. Not the discounted VIP5 even.

I seriously think the idiots running Unifi are either screwing people on purpose or seriously stupid.

And when you go to TM Point to resolve this, they will tell you TM Point can do nothing because their systems are separate. Asking you to call their Hotline. When you call their hotline, they will put you on hold for exactly 10 mins then either hang up or leave the phone receiver on the table.

I;m in Bangsar Park and my UNIFI failed on me today...

It was ok this morning before work, now the Dlink wireless is showing an orange LED status light on the globe icon, which i think shows the status of internet connection... Called the call centre, was given a report number and mentioned they are supposed to call me back within 24 hours...

my phone is also dead, can't check IPTV coz they have yet to install the box for me... GERAMZZZZ....

In regard to your ping test, i tested it last week, was pleased when it returned a 0ms response... hmmmmm, wonder what the heck can be happening... Not only my internet connection died, the phone as well...

how is this huawei thingy different from the fiberhome and dlink combination i have now?

I can only access the dlink and uncheck the remote management and change the passwords of admin and operator, haven't been daring enough to change anything else...
