HI Klseet, i flash my WRT54GL with dd-wrt firmware. Manage to tag Vlan1.500. the tag remain even i reboot the router or completely shutdown and ON again. But i failed to dial PPPoE.

Any working setup ??
thanks  sad.gif

WAH, D3vilsim, even your model is not listed there and we are still have no glue on the vlan?.500 on Broadcom, you still dare to flash ... shocking.gif
Really admire your courage ... sweat.gif

Anywhere, few questions:
1. exactly what model is yours?
2. which built you are using?
3. you sure that vlan? is the one you connect for WAN?

It's strange, since you can save & reboot with the vlan?.500 intact, it should have tag the traffic.... hmm.gif

Can you try to use the DIR-615 follow Riz method to configure as bridge, then use that vlan? without any tagging to connect pppoe and see whether it works.
This is just to re-confirm exactly which vlan? is using on your router before further testing.

root@WRT54GL:~# nvram show | grep port.vlans

port2vlans=0
port0vlans=1

root@WRT54GL:~# nvram show | grep vlan.hwname

Without tagging, can you connect pppoe through DIR-615 as bridge mode?

WRT54GL seem to have a Broadcom BCM5352@200mhz --> it's the same with my Buffalo WHR-HP-G54
Strange, how come yours can save reboot and the WAN port assignment still there whereas mine is gone?? blink.gif

Base on the current list:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Route...7t_support_VLAN
this 2 has "Yes" on the "Port-based VLAN's":
WRT54G v6.0 BCM5352E
WRT54G-TM v1.1 BCM5352E

hmmmm....

Hmm.. let me try and update u tomorrow k. smile.gif headache..

EDITED : Ops sorry forgot to tell u. At 1st mine one also lost the tagging after reboot. So i try to "tick" the tagged check box at VLAN tab. After i done the tagging setting at Network tab.

sequence as : tag Vlan1.500. (Apply setting) then go to network tab tick the tagged check box ( apply setting )

reboot 2 times the tag still there.

Just to share. Using homplug with extension cord.

Homeplug network light on "Orange" but seems like no speed or quality affect.

Guess till now you can only use MikroTik RB250GS then you can use other router. But is your router totally Dead DIR-615?

Hi,

would appreciate some suggestion, i would like subscribe to unifi.

my apartment have telephone point in all bedrooms and the living hall, i actually intend to put the splitter, btu and the PG in my study room and pull the wires to the STB in the living hall. is that convenient?

would the wifi signal be weak in the hall? because my study room door is always close.

thanks

Should be no problem I guess. But as you can see their Modem Router has very weak signal for Wifi. Mine so far so good. 2 floor building. Downstairs WiFi working good.

Since the BTU will be in your study, so should the DIR 615. Unless you have already or are prepared to pull Cat5e cables from your study to the rest of your apartment, here are your options:

In Study
-Desktop PC (1) -->RJ45 to LAN (1) port of DIR 615
-Laptop (1) -->Wifi
-PS 3 -->RJ45 to LAN (2) port of DIR 615

In Living Hall
-Laptop (1) -->Wifi
-TV (Live update) -->Am assuming this will be the IPTV STB; A pair of Homeplugs to LAN Port 4 of your DIR 615
For these:
-Blu Ray Player (Add downloads)
-Media player (for streaming video)

I would suggest you use your last remaining LAN (3) port of the DIR 615 to connect via another pair of Homeplugs to a switch, to which your equipment are to be connected.

Hi D3vilsim, I have no problem with UNIFI, but as my post earlier, can you explain why the packet loss test failed to carry out?

Both my home plug are on superb (green) mode smile.gif

Hi, I am not pro in networking. But packet lost can be many reason start from cabling Lan & phone & wifi. U shall try ping in LAN.
Mine also facing packet lost sometimes ..

As for the router... i don't even think is stable even on LAN. mad.gif

Hope can get solutions fast to completely replace the router. pack it and keep in store room. icon_rolleyes.gif

So,

In term of downloading,

VIP5 = 500KB/s
VIP10 = 1000KB/s
VIP20 = 2000KB/s

Is this right? cause I haven't been able to reach more than 1000KB/s for VIP10.
