We shall wait for 6 series and prepare for price cuts..thats all what i think - -.. Not much improvement in driver segment.. Last choice is drop price

QUOTE(megat89 @ Aug 13 2010, 06:48 PM) ATI Radeon HD 6000 Series ''Southern Islands'' Graphics Cards For Sale from NovemberCome this Winter, and things will heat up once again in the graphics card industry, with GPU vendors battling it out for the crucial Holidays shopping season. While AMD did not introduce any new GPUs after completing its ATI Radeon HD 5000 series launch itinerary, it did manage to grab significant amount of sales from its graphics rival NVIDIA. For this Winter, AMD and its partners will be in a position to launch the ATI Radeon HD 6000 series graphics processors, according to DigiTimes, citing sources from graphics card vendors. It is also said that the Radeon HD 6000 series, codenamed "Southern Islands" (members of which are codenamed after islands in the Mediterranean Sea), will be built on TSMC's 40 nm manufacturing process. AMD had originally planned to build Southern Islands on TSMC's 32 nm process, but with the foundry skipping 32 nm bulk for 28 nm which will start operations only by the end of the year, AMD redrew its plans and stuck to the now-mature (stable) 40 nm process. Perhaps AMD learned a thing or two from a wide range of teething problems that plagued the 40 nm production line. http://www.techpowerup.com/128546/ATI_Rade...m_November.htmlmy 5000series gc price sure drop kawkaw.. y so fast?... November will release low-end first..High end wait next year and still using 40nm..? Need wait 7 series we get 28nm

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Sep 6 2010, 06:26 PM) I think so. 512bit Buswidth and 2GB GDDR5 VRAM and DirectX 11.1. The 2GB VRAM should able to fully utilized for this series due to newer POWAH!!! YEAH! DirectX 11.1 is purely useless. LOL. How can u confirm it will be 512-bit?

Speculation are just speculation anyway..remember last time HD 4000 series expected performance turnout to be different?
Well,i guess the new series is more in architechture tweak rather than pure speed increament(not just straight increase shader..etc)

QUOTE(8tvt @ Sep 23 2010, 11:36 AM) if the 6 series doubled the performance.. 5 series sure goes cheap.. lol my 4 series become lower-end... there goes sub rm1k stuff.. 6 series is rather not brand new performance improvement..its more like an architechture refresh. (EG : HD 4870 >HD4890) this includes architechtural changes including tesselation..etc Nothing we can speculate except wait for it to release

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Oct 18 2010, 05:48 PM) Radeon HD6800 seems to be pretty long. I doubt it's same length as Radeon HD5850 and Radeon HD5870 respectively. I can't imagine if Radeon HD6900 is even longer. OMG. To FLASH BIOS of a GPU, it carries risks definitely. If you want to play safe, I recommend you to use MSI Afterburner to OC your GPU. It allows you to OC heavily even without flashing the BIOS to ASUS's(not as gay as MSI) or MSI's(heaviest OC available). Not only that but even HD 69XX have higher TDP and die sizes compared to previous generation.. I wonder how it will turns out..
