I just also want to share my experience. My agent asked me to install those spot lights initially. I got those from IKEA but the casing is metal and it seem too hot for the bulbs. Now my ceilings have burnt marks and the bulbs burst often

I know this may not be the right thread to ask, however, since it is related to purchasing of lights and installation. Can anyone of you recommend me a good contact for electrical wiring guy, I need to install more points and involve hacking of walls.

It is almost impossible to find cool white 4000K bulbs, be it led or cfl around my area, bangi. Currently, my downlight fixtures are fitted with two cfl cool white bulbs. Thinking of replacing those cfl bulbs with led bulbs.
Is it possible, in a fixture, to use 1 warm white bulb 2700K and 1 daylight bulb 6500K to produce something similar to 4000K? Anybody tried it? This post has been edited by miaopurr: Mar 18 2016, 01:43 AM |

Is it possible, in a fixture, to use 1 warm white bulb 2700K and 1 daylight bulb 6500K to produce something similar to 4000K? Anybody tried it? The strong lumens will give out bright yellow and reduce the yellowish. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Mar 18 2016, 10:27 AM) If you looking for CFL, Hitachi, pana, osram, Philip..... Im using osram 4000K cfl. Even the philips and led brand i use now have 3500-4000K bulbs in their catalogie. But the prob is, i cant find any shop in bangi or cyberjaya selling 3500K-4000K bulbs. Thats why im thinking of mixing diff color temp bulbs to get desired result. Possible?I know Hiatchi or Pana CFL is 3500k. I m using it now. |

If you around bangi, go over to kajang. Why a simple warm white CFL so difficult to find in this area? What are you want to mix? 2900k mix with 5000k ? It is no problem as long as it close enough. I do mix the bulb cause the bulb is close together. Doesn't notice much. |

I am having headache now choosing between two types of downlights.
Should I use the typical Round type, or the Double Recessed Downlights? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I like the double one but what if only one of the two bulbs spoil? Do I have to change the whole thing or just the one that is faulty already? |

Hi all,
just to share a little of my experience, after visiting most of the lighting shops i found ppl recommended, i finally found one shop which is selling the cheapest among all. S&S LED at old klang road, opposite pearl point hotel. Normally i buy LED Surface downlights 12Watt from houses lighting & Top Ten, They are selling at RM 21 -RM 25. Now i found the Same thing same grade and with 2 years warranty at S&S LED for RM 19. They also have cheaper ones like RM 8-15, but quality difference lo. Their deco lights also quite cheap. Happily bought for my 2 new units Safe up a lot haha |

Guys, if install LED downlights on a plaster ceiling, if it spoils, do we have to replace it with a same downlight brand or a different one? Does all the led downlight have the same size/measurement?

QUOTE(gimchuan91 @ Jun 27 2016, 12:05 PM) My survey may not be the most up to date. Most downlight are measure by inch is much easier, usually it come wither 4", 5", or 6" round or square. Some downlight even is 4" the opening may only need 3", while other may need 3.5", or some need 4" exactly. Its all depend on design. Also even if you can get back the same model and design color will be different. Very obvious on LED, the older will be dimmer. |
