QUOTE(Jo_da48 @ Aug 23 2011, 11:39 AM) ANy hints which shop at Puchong are salling good quality T5 with reasonable price? Like to know the price of 1/2/5 feets cost too Get brand like GE, Philips, Osram and some good brand. Don't get the china unknown brand. Last i ask 4' is about RM 25, but this is after i brought nearly 1.4k of switches from them. Normal i think is around 28+- for 4' 28watt. The HO type is more expensive but not many people selling. |

You can do the math, how long you run and add it up.
Say for your 17 4 feet T5, you use 17 x 28watt = 476 Watt per hours + 15% losses (assume) ~ 550 Watt / hours. If you switch on for 24 hours is 550 x 24 = 13Kwatt Added on December 27, 2011, 10:04 am8 x 15 Watt LED = 120 Watt + 15% losses ~ 140 Watt, x 24 hours = 3.3Kwatt This post has been edited by weikee: Dec 27 2011, 10:04 AM |

I still don't know how the Gov subsidy people use less than <= RM 20.
Crazy, all the tax we pay, all the loan we give to TNB we should be getting FOC. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Dec 27 2011, 12:02 PM) Don't rant. That subsidy not for you. It is for poor people. A few light, fan. pc and a TV. TNB is used to be government, and now go private all RED, used up so much our tax money. Just like MAS, they use lots of EPF money we should be getting free MAS ticket!!!But true. My friend stay alone enjoying this subsidy even he is not poor. His electrical appliacance as mention above. They have problem with managing the money, and want to charge the citizen. Why IPP get to charge TNB so high? |

QUOTE(manemaren @ Jan 11 2012, 03:48 PM) what can I do with 1000V DC ? all appliances run in AC... Most efficient CFL is T5, 4ft use 28 Watt, adding losses maybe 35 Watt. You can only power one T5 4ft CFL Added on January 11, 2012, 3:57 pmIf I put in a Solar Panel 50w. Can it power all outdoor light? I have 4 florescent light.. But you don't need to switch on light during day time, so you use your Solar to charge storage battery and use it for night time. |

Your FS light no more Feng Shui already. Usually is the driver, if is not the driver than your LED light are not meant to switch on 24/7 maybe due to poor heat insulation.

QUOTE(phoenix69 @ Jan 16 2012, 10:34 PM) You need to check if its really driver, or the LED itself. For driver, I don't use LED for long period of time so no comment on 24x7 driver. I only use PC PSU to power up the LED, and other 12v / 5v light I need for testing only. You need to go back the shop, ask them recommend you a better and reliable driver. |

Real "Yang" come from sun light, not from electrical bulb / led.
Alternative, get a PC PSU, "kung fu" and use that as a driver. But need to hide the big PSU box. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Feb 17 2012, 09:47 AM) There is no longterm. Can you warranty the LED bulb for fews years? All the bullshit spec write 50000hr but can't even give a fews yrs warranty. Lifespan on LED specification is on LAB and test environment. In real life is much shorter.Once spoil between a years, you are already lost your money. Added on February 17, 2012, 9:53 am QUOTE(vetkin_gray @ Feb 17 2012, 08:55 AM) In long term, yes. Its not just the electricity cost. Led generate very little heat and are not glaring to the eyes. LED generate very little heat, but is just on the source. Need to consider the Driver, try touch the driver and feel the heat. LED can blind you, is more glaring than CFL. Added on February 17, 2012, 9:56 am QUOTE(saigetsu @ Feb 17 2012, 08:47 AM) whoa u guys willing to spend triple than average bulb for led. your electricity bills come down a lot? just want to clarify this. I will use LED for specific application, but not going to replace entire house lighting. It still won't replace all the CFL application. Downlight LED still long way to go, and the brightness produce are not matchable to CFL. If we compare same brightness of LED and CFL, we have to pay a lot more. This post has been edited by weikee: Feb 17 2012, 09:56 AM |
