Hello jayjay

I'm not very sure what type of "LED recessed lighting" that you mentioned hmm.gif , but i got a LED lighting(down light type) installed in my new house few month a go, it look pretty good and very bright too, on top of that it also drawing very low consumption voltage too. Price wise is bit higher than the conventional energy saving light bulb but i reckon is a good choice in terms of long run, I'm sure it will save you a lot of money on your electricity bill biggrin.gif .

Hope i don't get you wrong on your question tongue.gif

guys, which florescent tube to use for those plaster ceiling L boxes? Either T8 or T5?
T8 is the most common but will it be too bright?
What lengths do T5 comes in?

Thanks for your answer. What lengths do they come in?
I guess T5 much more convenient ho cause no need for ballast and can daisy chain together?

the ones i found locally all have the drivers externally. the ones i saw on eBay are all packaged into the MR16 bulb itself. any problems with that?

Hi guys, I have recently install a wall light in my dining area but found it to be out of place (it just doesn't looks nice) and not bright enough. I'm thinking to install the normal florescent light instead and I wonder if the fixture is all the same in color (white) and shape?
*
wall lights too bright, it will be glaring since you look right at it

normal florescent comes in different length tubes and also round shape. has different wattage and different colors

Can anyone recommend a place to get track lighting along with the accessories especially this? Its a floating feed for the track because my power point is in the middle of the room and I need to connect the power to the middle of the track.

I bought my HT type track lights fixtures and accessories at Lightcraft (btw they are having a sale now till Sunday.)
They dont have the floating feed but I think I can buy one from a different manufacturer though. At Lightcraft, I could only get straight feed and L joints. No X or T joints either even though it is available from this same manufacturer. I have to make do with L and straight joints.

I haven't figure out what to do yet. Maybe hack the ceiling to extend the wires to where my track is. I might not need the floating feed as the wires are usually too far away from the wall where I want my tracks located

Will you be using MR16?

How much is the track per metre and how much was the damage to your wallet?

If Lightcraft doesn't sell those accessories, I wonder who else does...  hmm.gif

Yup. I'm planning to go with LED MR16. It's more energy saving that way and the bulbs seem kinda reasonable at RM29 a pop for the Philips 5w.

Very difficult to find in malaysia. You need to look for type HT aka H or Halo accessories
They have "polarity" so you have to figure out how to lay the tracks and feed beforehand. You probably won't need every accessory

You can find them in Singapore -
http://aftlight.com/downloads/hsp/Accessories.pdf

My fixture looks like this. Available in white or silver. Unfortunately over here black is not available but strangely Lightcraft got black accessories

Btw those philips 5w are probably not equivalent to 50w
Only the 6.5w and 7w dimmable are equivalent to 50w but then they are more expensive

Prices before discount

Latest News - Lightcraft just delivered my tracks and fixtures. Looks like mine does not have the Earth contact point as illustrated above. So instead of type HT, they gave me type L. That also means no need to worry about "polarity" but without an Earth point. Dont know if that is good or bad but as usual, everything in Malaysia kena songlap.....sigh. sad.gif

not only the drivers but the metal is very solid. 25 fixtures put in one box, and it is super heavy. even the six 3m length tracks are heavy. Very solid. I have seen those Rio tracks and fixtures, very light.

they do not stock anything at the showroom. everything has to brought in from their warehouse.

i also bought this imported pendant for my dining table at 60% off

Yeah, the Rio ones does seem a bit fiddly. Maybe I'll just drop by to take a look. 60% is a lot of discount! Was it because you bought in bulk from them?

Also, lets say you need 2.7m instead of 3. Can the track be sawed off to fit a custom length?
*
50% + 10% is just for the pendant. It was a display piece. After discount still over a thousand ringgit. sad.gif
The track lights were just 15% +10%
The extra 10% is just for the first two days. Not sure if after that still can get or not.
No need bulk purchase.

Can be saw off to whatever lengths
