QUOTE(lapaq @ Jun 2 2010, 10:49 AM) The RM300 is installation and ODU equipment fee. There will be 2 cables coming down from the ODU and the ODU will be replaced with the B.yond ODU and the LNB will be replaced with either Dual or Quad LNB depending on how many decoders you have in your house. That is where the RM300 goes to. yeah, but most of us already have the new byond dish....so the 300 bucks is just for changing a new lnb and and additional 20meters of cable? The PVR box belongs to Astro so RM300 is not us paying to own it. 500GB translates to 100 HD hours or 290 SD hours. No enough? |

I tried to plug in my Seagate Freeagent Go 320GB 2.5" HDD. The system will detect the drive and then come out with a warning:
Validation Failed: This USB device cannot be used. same warning came out when i plugged my HDD into the front USB port, so i assume you dont have to use the back USB for the PVR. but of course, if you plug into the back, it looks a lot more neater. So its confirmation. unless we use the exact drive ASTRO recommends, the system will not accept it. but the question is.. can we use the exact WD My passport AV model but 500GB, 640GB or even 1TB? Hehehe... apart from sugar shortage, there will be a WD My passport AV 320GB in the market very very soon. This post has been edited by edmundq: Jun 2 2010, 11:26 AM |

QUOTE(SiriuslyCold @ Jun 2 2010, 12:41 PM) there are two USB ports - can you hook up two hard drives at a time? from PVR-FAQis there a USB port on the dual-tuner PVR unit, and (... you know what's coming next) QUOTE Am I restricted to only one hard disk? Or can I use two hard disks simultaneously? WD My Passport AV 320GB could be using this driveNo. You can purchase multiple Western Digital My Passport AV 320GB External Hard Disk Drive and use it interchangeably with the same Astro B.yond box for your own media library. Note that you cannot connect two Western Digital’s My Passport AV 320GB External Hard Disk Drive at the same time simultaneously. The correct USB connection for Western Digital’s My Passport AV 320GB External Hard Disk Drive is the USB port at the back of the Astro B.yond box. For those that already swapped their MAX to B.yond...
12. I have downgraded my PVR recording service and my PVR box has been since swapped to an Astro B.yond box. Can I upgrade back to a PVR? Yes you can. However, you will have to pay for box swap installation and retrieval charges at prevailing rates at that time. For those who doesn't want the B.yond PVR anymore... 10. Can I discontinue my Astro B.yond PVR recording function? Yes, a one time switching fee of RM10 will apply and Astro will arrange for an installer to swap your Astro B.yond PVR box for an Astro B.yond box.
