Their FAQ is quite interesting.

You can swap your astro max box for the new PVR for FREE, and you don't have to pay the MYR10 recording fee for the first 12 months.

If you don't want to lay a second cable to your new PVR, you can pay for some device which (I assume) amplifies the signal or something. However, it costs MYR300.

I think I'll stick with my byond box and my max STB (I cannot lay another cable, don't want to pay 300MYR for an amplifier nor 10MYR a month for what I can already do for free). There's not that much on HD worth recording anyways. I do miss the pause feature though.

Me too. But i've take sport package specially for WC 2010. So after that, i swap that with Dynasty.

the RM300 for upgrading to byond PVR we have to pay to installer or they will include in the next bill?

if anyone is interested, in order to use single cable, this is the frequency stacker/destacker device I found out from the net, astro may not use the exact device:

i signed up at Midvalley today for the pvr. think it is worth it especially i would now be able to watch on demand rather than linear stream. the time saved is money. so 10ringgit is well worth.
But notice the pvr is without ff, so we would have to watch axn will all the commercial.

should be together with AXN else it would be in the Starworld range of numbering
so at least Astro did not make us take the Starworld package to watch FX

There is a fast forward function. I use it all the time.

Perhaps enough for 1 year la....
But for me, I don't think so .... since I like to record & KEEP, somemore mostly HD channels.....

can put multiple terabytes HDD onto it ....some can even support 8 or 10 arrays .....
I also saw an external USB3 twin 3.5" hot-plug device, no need computer, can just slot-in one already recorded HDD in front, then slot-in another empty HDD at the back, press a button and it just copy, the speed is so much faster than using PC 

That's how my friends share among themselves over there .....

What is the model - byond pvr- is it similar to Pace TDS865? 'cos i saw TDS865 has 2 digital audio output options, coaxial & optical.
